Do any of you have experience with the Mesa Mark series emulation on a Digitech RP1000 or Eleven Rack? I'm weighing my options for satisfying my Hetfield fan need for stepping on a footswitch and pounding out some metal riffs. Obviously, I could buy a Mark III and be done with it, but I'd like to try to get some bang for the buck if I can and not have to maintain another amp (and...um...keep my wife happy). My plan is run a through the effects return on my Egnater Tourmaster. I've had my eye on the following:

-Mesa Studio Preamp
-RP1000
-Eleven Rack w/footswitch

The RP1000 and 11R would provide a lot of effects and amp tones I don't have, and they're modestly priced (Kemper and Axe-Fx are non-starters for a while). Do either of these units have convincing Mesa Mark chugging capability? Thanks, guys!

Not sure about the rp1000, but my gsp1101 has a pretty good markIV sim. needs an od sim to get the metallica chug (I use the 808). I basically have my 1101 setup to mimic my markIV rig and it does a pretty good job for what it is.

Thanks! It's especially helpful that you've been able to compare to the real thing. I've read that there isn't much difference between the rp1000 and the 1101. Given how cheap the 1000's are used, it's probably worth trying out.
