Hi guys,

Can anyone explain to me why the clean channel on my mk IV only works when the loop is on?

That seems pretty wierd to me

Where are your switches for the effects loop set at? On the back there should be 3 switches above the effects loop jack on the mark IVB. My guess is you have the effects loop auto assigned to R1 and so when you switch it off, it breaks the signal.

I have a mark IVA, so my effects loop setup is a little different.

I have it auto assignet to R1 now, but if I switch that off it won't work. Then I have to switch on the loop on the footswitch to have a working clean channel again.

Wierd...

Have you tried auto assign it to other channels and see what happens? The loop on the IVB is enough different from the IVA, that I have never run into this issue.
