Here's a short, highly caffeinated clip (no drunken clips, sorry. I have some dignity
) I recorded Sunday. Crossposted from HCAF for the benefit/amusement of the Rig-Talk crowd.
Note: this was recorded at a very low level. There's actually "pick hitting the strings" noise in there if you're observant.
Mesa horny, Boogie longtime!
This is a Mesa Stiletto Deuce through a Marshall 1960AV loaded with WGS Green Berets. I miced up the cab with a Shure SM57 and a Shure KSM27 LDC into a Focusrite Saffire Pro and my MacBook Pro running Logic 8. This recording is unmixed- the input levels are set to "not clipping", and that's it. No adjustments of any kind were made in Logic at all, so it's as raw as can be. I used an LTD EC1000 with a Duncan Custom 5 in the bridge, a '59 in the neck, and old, dead strings. The high gain tone is the Red channel boosted with a Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive, and it's the bridge Custom 5. The mid-gain tone is unboosted and is the middle position, while the low gain tone is the Blue channel and the neck '59. My settings were as follows:
Mesa Stiletto Deuce (Stage I)-
Blue Channel:
50w/Spongy/Tube/Tite Clean
Master- 5:00, Presence- 3:00, Bass- 9:30, Mids- 2:00, Treble- 3:00, Gain- 1:30
Red Channel:
50w/Spongy/Tube/Fluid Drive
Master- 1:00, Presence- 11:00, Bass- 10:30, Mids- 3:00, Treble- 8:00, Gain- 1:30
Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive-
Gain- 11:00, Tone- 12:00, Clean- 8:30, Volume- 5:00
Enjoy!
