Mesa Tremoverb Clips

Man... I love this guy's clips. They sound great! I think part of it is the speaker though. But makes me want to go find a Tremoverb.

first vid lundgren sounded way better than emg to me
second vid was my fav tonally
third vid had the best playing but a bit muffled - very fixable
assuming all 3 were cell phones

I like the lungreds better . I use both on my 8 strings . I do like the EMGS too

Can someone explain what is different in the Tremoverb soundwise that makes it more desirable vs any other Mesa recto?

Red modern is a little less scooped in the mids, lows and highs aren’t quite so extreme. Slightly less “metal” sounding compared to a dual or triple. By the time you put it in a track it’s almost irrelevant. If you’re looking for most “brutal”…that’s the triple. Dual is the classic recto tone IMO

It's a subtle difference, but in that clip the Tremoverb sounds best to me. Slightly thicker low mids, less highs. But could just be the normal variance in the components and pots due to tolerance. Certainly not different enough to warrant going out of the way to find one.

Rectos are the most inconsistent sounding production amps, in my experience. They can vary in sound a lot.

Modding them becomes time consuming since they sound so different from amp to amp. Each one must be individually voiced and it can take a lot of additional effort.

Truer words have never been spoken. At one point I had 4 rev F’s and a rev g/c triple. All of the rev F’s sounded different from one another. Some were tighter, some looser and bigger, etc. Different quality to the gain, more mids, less mids, smooth high end vs sharper. All sounded like rectos though. Was a fun experiment but it’s Marshall for me. Rectos to me are like cheeseburgers- not high brow and just hit the spot when you’re craving. And they shouldn’t be all that expensive. I’m not paying $150 for a burger I don’t care what year the beef came from. Marshalls are different I’ll sell a kidney for the right one

whats it called?
I'm not sure. His Pedal Company was called Van es & i believe at one time the pedal was called the Esmeister or something like that. Mike from Darkest Hour did a quick video demo of it & i've been trying to get one ever since. I have the same 5153 that he was using at the time & the pedal was perfect for it.

Tremoverbs sound cool but they seem to have more issues than any other recto, at least in my experience.

They’re known for having LDR issues, and that’s a very expensive servicing.
Years ago I bought a used one with this issue, it sounded horrible and I returned it immediately.
I wouldn’t touch one unless I could play it first, and even then I’d be wary of having to dish out to remedy this.

An M6 into a Recto is a thing of beauty.

I've have mine for about 20 years and no issues. I found online a few years back, where they gave the 'serial#-range" of the ones who might get lDR issues. If the s/n wasn't in that range, it wouldn't have any ldr problems. Luckily mine wasn't
