Whats the difference besides one having more power?
Options and tone are they about the same?
Any help is appreciated.

It was only a matter of time.

But are they both voiced the same???
Power section only the difference?
I have a chance to get either amp for about the same price....
dont hear much talk about the Triple recto .....
always Dual recto...

I would go for the Triple, but I never played the double. It may not stack up to your FJA though. I think you would like the Twin Jet. You can find them for 1700.00, maybe a little more. A Rec has got to be around a grand plus.

I think the tripple rectifier is a little tighter sounding than the dual, but I've only played the 2 channel version

It's just more cash you're gonna be spending on valves, that is, if they sound the same.

Triples sound a little tighter/more aggressive, even at lower house volumes imo.

Rec's need as much clean power as possible for the way their preamp is voiced, the more the better when it comes to that particular preamp design, even if you don't play stadiums.

Especially if you play lower tunings...

One of the worst sounds imo is when a Rectifier's transformers saturate and the tone starts to fall apart. Not good imo.

Yeah I had a Single recto for a while....sounded great at medium volumes.
Crank it....well.... :aww:

Was going after a Dual recto when I saw a Triple pop up for about the same price.
Wasnt sure what else was changed besides the power section.

Ah, thanks for the info.

I did say if they sound the same though. If I couldn't tell the difference between two different wattage versions of the same amp I'd go low. Then again, I'm a student.

It's true that it's just two power tubes added and nothing else, but it still sounds slightly different (to me) even at lower volumes, I can't explain it.

Well the more power to push the pre-amps with less 'struggle' seems the way to go.
Just wasnt sure if major changes were made to it.
Not too much talk about these amps though.

If you're getting it modded it might not matter as much and "close the gap" between the two, just a hunch.

Hey bro, I have had them both at the same time......er, uh, wait where was I going with that? :D

Anyway. The triple is more scooped and tighter by a hair. The dual is more open and less scooped. The dual definitely cuts better in a mix. I prefer the dual. Also, re tubing it is cheaper.

Thanks again for the Info....
Got really good deals lined up and need to know which one to pull the trigger. ;)

Thats pretty much what I was thinking. If the extra headroom makes a big difference.
Hear great stuff on the Duals....just nothing on the Triples.

A triple rectifier with an 808 as a boost is great for tight metal! The main difference is just power, but the triple is tighter, more "open" and sounds bigger than the dual

So it seems the vote (at least metal wise) has been for the Triple.
And I lean 95% to the metal/Hard rock side so......

Mailman, If you buy one, let me know. I have six 6L6's (Mesa branded), in good shape, that I will send your way if you cover the postage.
