And here's the Mesa vs. Marshall comparison...

Almost the same settings on the Mesa. Just a different guitar in a different tuning with passive pups.

Cheers,
Simon

Funny how guys around here mod their Marshalls to sound like Mesa's. ;)

Did John Sykes use a Boggie Mark III on the '87 White Snake album? How about on the first Blue Murder?

I love Brad Gillis' guitar sound on Speak of the Devil and I believe that was a Boggie Mark IIB.

I think Sykes used a Coliseum III for the 87 Whitesnake album and the Blue Murder albums. Gillis used a pair of IIB half or full stacks with a chorus pedal.

Interesting video....I'm guessing that marshall would cut right through a mix, but the mesa brings those thunderous low mids

It's more like: i tend to dial the Amps in the way i like it. The unmodded Marshall sounds a bit "thin" :)

Great comparison, the Mesa wins though.
Thanks!

Both Amps together sound great in a mix

the triple rec sounds great in those vids!
Cheers!

To me it's more like:
-If you're into the Mesa tone, you'll like the Mesa better;
-If you're into the Marshall tone, you'll like the Marshall better;
-If you're into avoiding classic tones, avoid Marshall & Mesa;
-If you're smart, get them both!!!

That's the "smart +" option!!!
The 5153 is already a beast. Can't even imagine how good the stealth is!!!!

Or buy a Diezel Herbert and press the mid cut button. :lol: :LOL:

I prefer the triple rectifier. Probably the best clip I have heard of a triple. I've heard the reborns sound a lot better than the original 3 channels.... I believe that video proves it.
The Marshall sounded good, much better than my JMP-1 (pre).

Thank you :)

The mods often sound influenced by the MKIIC.

I love a recto Marshall mix. Perfect combination!

I tried it in the Studio. It's great!:)
But you can also simply use the Marshall with different speakers (V30/G12K100) and mix them.
