First time playing The Struggle Within at Prague this week.

To me they sound GREAT (given the poor quality recording).

It seems as if James' voice has some of his characteristic growl back and lost some of the operatic high notes he had been using recently.

I love this

They'll be playing it on 24th June in Atlantic city, and on 23rd they are playing ride the lightning whole.

oh yeah, that's cool. But in RTL case, they only need to play Escape, it's the only song they haven't played.

But the black album had some cool songs that have never been played, like The Struggle Within and My Friend Of Misery. Also songs like The God That Failed have been played live but very very seldom. :)

They've played Escape this year in Filmore, SF. For their one week of "private" giging in celebration of their 30 years.

kirk fucking nailed it, and i'd expect nothing less...

RTL is THE album I would sever a limb for in order to hear live.

Metallica played bits of Escape when they played in Melbourne in 2010.

They also played The God that Failed there on the Saturday night 20th November I think. I was up there watching all the gawkers dressed in black gawking down at James Hetfield (who was wearing white, and a hat!), then went down to St. Kilda trying to get into the nightclubs while wearing a cape. I managed to get into the Espy but it was near closing time, so crashed a fancy dress party.

And if you think I failed, well, I saw Metallica the next night and when they played The Thing that Should Not Be, the sound impact sincerely knocked me on me arse.

one of my favourite Kirk solos, and to buck the trend i'll say something nice about him, he played it well considering how fast they played the tune.

this solo is one of my fav. from him too...... the syncopated part that starts at the middle of the solo is FANTASTIC

this performance in particular I found very good. Kirk sounded great and Jame' voice sounded great too
