I hope this link works. He's interviewed by Jamie Humphries for Like Library monthly Online Magazine.
He tears it up! He's playing as well as ever. Just awesome. I'm glad to see him back. He's always had this great groove to his playing. Tone great. He's looking for someone to build a Signature Amp. How bout a Marsha Schenker?

I'll be seeing him on the 24th. Apparently Robin Mcauley is a "special guest." Should be a good show.

I enjoyed that interview. Thanks.

If anyone deserves a sig amp its Michael.

He's been really good the last few years. Robin Mcauley is annoying but what are you going to do. He's got the rythym section of the Scorpions with him on the European leg of the tour.

Here's a current setlist -
1. Into The Arena
2. Armed And Ready
3. Lovedrive
4. Another Piece Of Meat
5. Lovers
6. Save Yourself
7. Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
8. Rock My Nights Away
9. Shoot Shoot
10. Love To Love
11. Too Hot To Handle
12. Let It Roll
13. Natural Thing
14. Lights Out
15. On And On
16. Rock Bottom
17. Attack Of The Mad Ax Man
18. Doctor Doctor

Is that the setlist for the entire tour? If it is, I sure as heck wish he at least had Phil Mogg with him. Oh well, lots of fantastic tunes so should be good regardless.

That's what I saw a few weeks ago but they might change it up. Rock Bottom is worth the price of admission alone. Schenker is playing very well. If you're any fan at all, you'll want to be there to see this in my opinion.

starts to heat up mightily at 4:00
should put to rest that rock legends have to fruit out when their star starts to fade.

Strangers In the Night is in my top 10 all-time favorite albums. Definitely a fan.

If Michael's in that kind of shape these days I am going to have a smile through the whole show.

It's interesting, the white head behind him in the interview looks like a 2210/05 type layout but it has the union jack in the corner like the brand new amps. Wonder if a re-issue or special edition is in the works....

Anyone else notice the Dean failing him and going out of tune? Tone was always better with Gibsons. That said, his tone isn't bad here just not as good. Always loved the way he used simple gear (looks like all BOSS pedals) and amps to get his tone. What i find interesting is that he always has this wahh or mid range cut AWWWWE vocal sound to a lot of his leads even when there is no wah. Norum has that going to. Are these his signature pups with Dean or does he still swap them out for dimarzios or other?

Bob, I had the pleasure of seeing MSG last Friday and let me tell you, Ive probably seen Michael close to 30x at this point and I can honestly tell you that Ive NEVER seen him play like he did Friday night and with rare exception, hes never disappointed me( I think you know how rabid a Schenker fan I am). I consider the Strangers In The Night Version of Rock Bottom to be the benchmark of Shenker greatness and his version when I saw him put it to shame. Hes always been technically proficient but that was never the highlight of his playing However, it seems like hes been seriously woodshedding. His playing now has a bunch of blazing precise passages that he weaves into his hyper melodic lines and his phrasing has just gone beyond his already ridiculously tasty levels.. I was completely and utterly floored. The man is a bottomless well of melodic creation and invention and just when you think that he had said what he needed to say, he would continue on, taking you places with fresh ideas and melodies.. I was speechless and had to pick my jaw off the floor on numerous occasions...

Not only do I think that you will be smilng, I would be willing to bet that seeing Michael will reawaken your passion and fire for playing. Ya know when people talk about having a religious experience? Well bro, this was as close as Ive come to having one in a musical context...

What I saw was magical and I truly hope that it has the same effect on you..

Kage, I'm not as big of a fan of Schenker as you are but I second your review. He's on fucking fire. I don't think he hit a wrong note all night.
Have you got a BitTorrent client? There are some decent quality boots floating around of recent shows.

He is sooooo on in this vid.
Schenker is beyond Smokin'
he's "WHITE HOT"!!

The guy is inspired when sober... did you guys happen to see his pedal board? Is he still rockin the boss pedals and keeping it simple? He's a great reminder as to why huge pedalboards aren't necessary for great tone. In this case it is all in the hands and the phrasing. John Norum is a huge Shenker fan and it shows as well.

Oh fuck yea... I remember when Phenomenon came out. That album is what got me interested in UFO and Schenker specifically. I wore it out twice !

Damn, he an I are only a few years apart too but he is looking a bit thin these days but still kicks ass and he will be playing next week not far from me !

This topic could not have come at a better time.

Anybody know if his cabs are all RI greenie loaded or not?

Oh, sorry. Misread the title. Thought it said something about "Passed Out" and " "On The Rocks".......
