Hi Can anyone help me i have been looking at Rocktron, G-Lab,GSC5 and GSC 3 with loops on pedal baord and ALA and loops for rack FX Gigrig, soundsculpture, Voodoo lab, etc etc I am trying to decide how to get a small inexpensive easy to use stompbox/rack fx system to cut out the tap dance, can you tell me about your experience with the patchmate 8 floor?
sorry about the large email!!
Thanks
Sagat
This is the email i sent to Rocktron:
Hi
In the past i have bought equipment for guitar and found it didn't do what i had hoped;
so I am asking these questions now to avoid future problems- I hope you don't mind the amount of questions and text.
I hope you don't mind answering my questions;

How do I eliminate earth hums with this?

I would like to use the PatchMate Loop 8 Floor, to switch floor pedal stomboxes on and off ,and to send signal from amps fx loop to 1 to 3 rack fx units.
It says in your manual you can use a Y-connector to send signal to 2 rack fx from one send.

Can the patchmate floor unit have two signals sent to it at the same time if you split the unit? one from guitar at guitar level and one from fx loop at line level?

I would like to send the signal to the rack fx units, and be able to mute that signal to the rack fx; so delay or reverb will fade away gradually and not stop dead.

I would like to use the parallel fx loop on my main amp an Egnater mod 50 that also has a serial loop , and other amps i have only have serial fx loops and some no fx loops at all, so it needs to be flexible, if possible.

Sometimes i need to use a very small sized setup-

If i were to use a sansamp midimouse midi pedal to change preset patches on the PatchMate Loop 8 Floor,

and then within that preset; would the individual loops be able to be turned on and off by the 8 switches on the unit?

Does this relate to what it says in your forum?

In your forum it says:

"I just purchased a new Rocktron Patchmate Loop 8 Floor unit, so that I could switch between various pedal configurations with a single step (with the pedals sitting in the 8 loops of the unit). I got the unit yesterday, and it seems the unit CANNOT change directly between pre-assigned loop configurations! The problem is that the unit's default setting is that it is in LOOP MODE, where it works as a normal looper. Unless I'm mistaken (or cannot use the unit correctly), everytime when I want to use a preset (with a preset loop configuration) I need to separately access PRESET MODE by stepping on a footswitch that says 'preset'. After this I can step on the 1-8 footswitches of the unit and access the preset assigned to that footswitch. What is more, when I have chosen the preset, the unit immediately goes back to loop mode, and I cannot dial in another preset without stepping on 'preset mode' switch first. This means TWO footsteps every time I want to change from a preset to another (one to access preset mode and the other to call in a preset)! Can this be right? Very frustrating and disappointing! Am I doing this right?"

Can the midimate control the PatchMate Loop 8 Floor, and allow me to toggle loops on and off within a preset?
Can the midimate control several midi devices at the same time and put out tap tempo to the rack fx?
The Egnater mod 50 channels are switched by midi, can the midimate control;
midi amp switching, rack fx program changes, tap tempo, stomp box selection on the patchmate loop 8 floor, simultaneously with the press of one button.
Last gig i was having to press 4 buttons to change sounds.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I don't know if the floor unit can do this, but I have two of the rack units, and they can definitely do this...
