Hi, haven't been here in a long time. Longtime HCAF'er, currently hanging out more on ILF and GAB just cause the music and humor generally fits me a little more over there. However, the midi is not super strong over there except for a couple people either, so figured I'd post this here.
I'm using the following four midi devices;
1) Rocktron Midi-Mate Foot controller: controls switching of all midi enabled devices, midi out sent to Rocktron Loop 8.
2) Rocktron Loop 8 Floor Pedal Switcher: routes individual effects pedals in and out of signal path, midi Out/Thru sent to RJM Mini Amp Gizmo
3) RJM Mini Amp Gizmo: switches amplifier functions on my Mesa Tremoverb head including; channel, reverb, tremolo, and fx loop, midi out sent to Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe
4) Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe delay
I've already set up about 80 "dumb" patches that automate switching of my pedals via the Loop 8, and my amp via the RJM Mini Amp utilizing the default midi ch. 1 on the Rocktron Midi-Mate. Now I need to do some "smart" programming to do the following;
1) Set up the Rocktron Midi-Mate foot controller and RJM Mini Amp Gizmo to turn on and off individual amp functions using CC messages, so I can use buttons on the Midi-Mate to change channels, and turn on/off reverb, tremolo, or the fx loop once I'm already within a preset on the Midi-Mate.
2) Set up the Rocktron Midi-Mate foot controller and the Echolution to;
a) be switched to a preset that is NOT the same preset number designated by the display on the Rocktron Midi-Mate by sending a separate patch change on a separate channel than the patch changes sent to the RJM and the Loop 8.
b) be able to control and/or turn on and off certain such as say using a button on the Midi-Mate to control the effect engage footswitch on the Echoltion or turn on and off the Modulation.
My questions are;
1) How do I set up the Rocktron Midi-Mate to send messages to the Loop 8 on ch. 1, the RJM Mini Amp Gizmo on ch. 2, and the Echolution on ch. 3 simultaneously. When I was experimenting today I tried to set the Midi-Mate up via the Editing function to send messages on ch. 2, and it stopped sending messages to my other devices on ch. 1 once I did because it no longer switched presets on my Loop 8 and Echolution when it did. (As an aside I haven't yet set up the RJM Mini-Amp Gizmo to receive on ch. 2 so I don't know for sure if that was working or not, but since it receives fine on ch. 1 I see no reason it won't work)
2) Can I set up the Midi-Mate to send different program or patch change numbers to different devices at the same time so that I do not have to make the preset number on my Echolution mirror that on the Rocktron Midi-Mate. That way for example I can recall preset 01 on the Midi-Mate and have the Loop 8 and RJM recall preset 01, but have say preset 29 designated for recall on the Echolution by the same preset on the Midi Mate. If so how do I accomplish this?
3) How can I set up the Midi-Mate in Controller Mode and RJM Amp Gizmo so that I can use the 5 buttons on the Midi-Mate designated for sending CC messages on the Midi-Mate to control switching of individual switchs on my RJM Mini Amp Gizmo once I'm within a preset. So Say I want to be able to recall preset 31 on the Midi-Mate, and then use buttons 5 & 6 on the Midi-Mate to individually switch my amplifier channel and reverb respectively once in that preset.
4) Can I set up the Rocktron Midi-Mate to send multiple CC messages to multiple devices at the same time when using buttons 5-9 in Controller mode, so that I could be in a preset on the Midi-Mate and have my amplifier set to clean channel, no pedals selected on my Loop 8, and my delay off for a dry clean sound, and then have say button 5 on the Midi-Mate designated to...
a) switch amp channels via CC message to the Amp Gizmo
b) switch the loop designated for my boost pedal in to the signal path on the Loop 8 via CC message
c) turn on my delay pedal via CC message
