That’s quite a paranoid and self-unaware piece I’d say. It’s truly amazing the extent to which one’s biases affect perception of reality. At least Christians acknowledge there is no “Neutral.”

I made it to “young earth creationist” and couldn’t read any more

He doesn't believe in gay marriage and abortion. His views on creation differ from the current thing. Look out, he's the boogie man. Guardian is full of trash articles like this. Fear porn piece for democrats. Breaking news: religious beliefs inform policy.

But when religious beliefs make someone think humans and dinosaurs hung out together, then their religious beliefs have disconnected them from reality.

It should be clear why people wouldn’t want them making decisions for the country as a whole

Explain to me how someone else holding that belief would negatively affect your ability to pursue life, liberty, and happiness.

or when they think boys can be girls

Because it’s indicative of his “beliefs” interfering with his perception of the world.

It’s not easy to also think that his beliefs would interfere with his perception of our government, and those 2 things are supposed to be separate.

talk about a bogey man lol.
I don’t think it’s difficult to argue that confusing men with women affects the fabric of American society more than believing humans existed with dinosaurs.

But whether you like it or not, gender dysphoria is a real life thing. It’s unclear to me how it is harmful to anyone but the person going through it.

That goes for everyone, not just those crazy Christians!

How many other religions are trying to regularly shape our government though? It is very clear that you are free to practice whatever religion you want here. That’s what churches are for. We even made them tax exempt.
Those practices should also be clearly separate from the country’s government because not everyone in the country is Christian.

It’s quite atrocious when you think about it. Someone is given the right to practice what they want and they are using it to restrict everyone else’s beliefs in the process

I’m not denying that gender dysphoria exists, I’m denying that men can’t be women and vice versa. To claim otherwise, and to demand people treat it a certain way is precisely “using it [‘Religious beliefs’] to restrict everyone else’s beliefs in the process.”

Sex and gender are two different things. If you asked me how many sexes there are, I’d tell you 2.
Gender is a sociological term and it changes with society.
It’s like calling a plant a weed. In someone’s perfectly manicured lawn it can be seen as a weed, but it is actually a native flower just like any other.
Just because you don’t want them in your yard doesn’t mean they are any less a part of the ecosystem.

The thought that you need to treat men and women differently is a whole other different can of worms. What I’m saying is if you see men and women as equals, none of this matters.
Don’t tell me this is all about bathrooms.

You’re too caught up with the idea of “Religious” beliefs being somehow distinct or special. And for that matter, as I alluded, lgbt ideology, as well as Marxism for that matter are arguably religious beliefs. And not many argue against those who adhere being somehow disqualified from shaping government. See James Lindsay on this topic.

I’m confident that if you didn’t try to force men in women’s bathrooms, on sports teams, or make people use “Preferred pronouns,” no one would give a shit.

…oh, and hide “gender transitions” from parents or advocate kids should chop their breasts off and take harmful drugs.
