So as much as I like the thump of my 4 x 12, if I am going to crank my 800 and record in a semi isolation environment (decided to use baffles and moving blankets, I'm going to have to go to my 2x12 in mono with one speaker mic'd to help cut down on the rumble and vibrations through the house. So the big question, are those Auralex grammas or other solutions really going to be light years ahead of a couple 5$ Home depot milk crates down on a small carpet? Seems to me the milk crate and casters have been the standard for years before the fancy stuff came out....

I've seen that mentioned elsewhere. Makes sense when you think about it's ability to diffuse vibration.

My great gramma decouples well. I live in an apartment and even plug my bass in on occasion. Neighbors barely hear my bass, so I know they can't hear my guitar.
