MIM Charvel vs 2022 PRS SE Floyd

I’m in the market for a new guitar with a Floyd Rose and I’ve narrowed it down to two contenders. Either a MIM Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH or a 2022 PRS SE Custom 24 Floyd. I already have a 2015 Fender American SSS that I converted to HSS Strat but I want a Floyd.

The thing I really can’t stand on the MIM Charvels is the totally unfinished neck. The unfinished neck and specifically the fretboard just looks like it will turn to total shit after a few years. The PRS is pretty nice, just need to flip out the pickups for some Duncans. It looks like it’s a much higher quality guitar than the Charvel and it has a 14 inch radius as opposed to the 12-16 compound on the Charvel.

I had a non Floyd PRS SE Custom24 about 5 years ago and it was a quality guitar for what it was. The MIM Charvels just look like they are really cheap with a set of decent Duncans.

Anyone here have any experience with these PRS SE Floyds or the MIM Charvels, specifically the unfinished necks over time on the Charvels?

I've got a 2017 SE Floyd (or 18 - bought new late 17).
Surprisingly good guitar for the money.
Needed a setup, but otherwise I keep her stock as my Eb (one of them anyway).

I also have a 2014 Core version.
Actually much different guitar. This has unfinished necks that I love. The 2017 has finished neck.

I haven't had issue with stock pickups but would be interested in your thoughts if you ever get one and swap out.

I have not played any new Charvels at all, but have heard to stay away in same way as some of the MIM Wolfgangs (waiting on a mint a Japanese version to be delivered next week).

If the newer SEs are like mine, you can't go wrong. Real good quality for the price point.
