I am going to be mixing speakers in my 412. I have heard a lot of people do X patterns, but I have also heard some good things about doing two or one type on top, the other two on the bottom

What is your preference, and why??

I would try both myself, but the wires in my cab are soldered, and huge wire so I would rather not do much experimenting. Speakers are two weber greenbacks, and two Jensen Electric lightnings.

I don't typically mix speakers, but I do have one mix of "everyday" speakers that I like: greenbacks and V30s split top to bottom. Even though the V30 is a more efficient speaker, I don't get the volume difference between the two pairs that you would expect...likely because the greenbacks are on the top of a slant cab.

Right now my cab has V30s on the bottom, and the weber greenback clones up top. I just really don't get a along with V30s that is why I got two of the Electric lightnings. The ELs are also an aggressive speaker, but just to me are so much more full, and clear than the V30s. I don't know if they are as loud as the V30s, or more greenback like efficiency. They are listed at 99dB, but I have seen that different companies measure it different, and for example eminence typically overestimates, so I don't really know what to expect.

The only real way to know is to wire it up, plug in, and see if you like what you hear.

I am thinking about doing an X pattern, but I am also thinking about re-wiring the cab with quick disconnects if I can find a place to buy the proper 0.205" connectors.

Parts express charges a lot to ship to Canada, or else I would have bought a 50 pack from them a while ago. I think I will have to call all the local electronic shops to see if they can order them in for me.

Crutchfield.ca has them too. That was the 1st link.

Oh, and you can always try your local auto part store, believe it or not. :)

I didn't see the crutchfield link, I will check that out, and I will call a few auto parts stores right now. Thanks for the info!!!
