The Commissioner and Owners are threatening the idea of a Free Market/America/Capitalism and Baseball as we know it and threatening Players value with a Salary Cap and potentially leading to a Baseball Lockout.....

There shouldn't be a Salary Cap on Players and this goes against everything Baseball and America stand for.......

If your a fan, support our Players...... stand with our Players and don't let the Commissioner and MLB Owners Lockout Baseball!!!!!!

Supporting our Players = Supporting America/Baseball ^_^

Edit:
I mean the Commissioner of MLB does make a point here....... but Players shouldn't have a Salary Cap..... IMO this is tricky and talking to younger fans they kind of lean on the Commissioners side..... but IMO that is due to a lack of understanding of the history of Free Agency/Salary Cap between owners and players......

This isn't clear cut and black and white and there is grey....... but I stand on the side of the Players despite some real points by the Commissioner......

While my opinion is Players shouldn't have a Salary Cap to provide opposing viewpoints have also posted both arguments for and against Salary Cap arguments here in OP....

I will always be on the Players side and with Players...... Players dont need a Salary Cap..... and I will always stand by that statement and MLB Players......

Players argument

Commisioners/Owners argument

These goddamn desk jockeys like the Commissioner and MLB Owners don't do jack shit....... I'm with the Players and I'm with Baseball......

Say no to Salary Caps....... they are Un-American and against Baseball.

Edit: regarding the situation with Baseball in OP.....

It isn't black and white or so clear cut.....

I'm on the Players side..... but something has to be done about the abuse we see in the game in general regarding competition......

That is a real conversation to be had and its a real problem in the game.

IMO as much as a Salary Cap makes sense......

It makes sense for Football...... For NBA.... Or whatever other sports...... But MLB ain't none of that......

MLB is Baseball...... And Baseball ain't about that football/basketball whatever or how they do things..... A lot of players before made the sacrifices to insure players rights and the right of the player to justly get paid their value.

Are there problems with the current way it's done and the Salary Tax and how it doesn't really work..... Yes...... Could it be better..... Yes.... Should it be better..... Yes. Yes, yes and yes.

But we can't throw the player under the bus...... It's hard to explain but these guys don't grow on trees..... And youre not getting talent like this for cheap or whatever a salary cap will mean which is essentially cheapening the actual value of a player.

This and IMO the industry and the sport is better served with no salary cap or salary tax even and the more money..... The better..... Why would you want less money in the industry/sport with a salary cap...... More money is better than less money and a salary cap means less money for players, the sport and organizations too..... Money attracts money pure and simple and that is why you want more money in the sport and not less as the Commissioner is proposing with a salary cap.

Baseball and MLB is better served by raising the salary floor on criteria for teams on average relative to market size of bigger teams at a minimum or something to that effect to bring more equity to teams, fans and players alike and a more competitive game in 162 in general that evens the playing field that way.

Let's face it.... A lot of the owners, front office types, executive types etc etc and desk jockeys and other guys twirling in their chair planning their next vacation trip don't do anything pretty much and the MLB and Baseball is just a printing press for them either which way :dunno:
