I needed a clean amp and I have very little $ so I got a 70s silverface bassman 100 w/ 4 6l6's that wasn't working too well
got it fixed, then modded (all free fortunately) a bunch inside and out, to kinda make my own thing out of it
wanted to get a jtm45 a blackface and ac30 all in 1 amp....and with no $ to do it :-)
ac30 was a long shot, but what does everyone think about the jtm45 sound?
I also added webber copper cap to give it a tube rectifier feel
was a lot of fun experimenting, it isn't a collectors item, and I'm not a fender guy, but I still felt a little bad modding it, but it is a quality starting point for mods and was the right price

all these are all the way up, using my volume knob

after I roll back the volume, then there is a space, I switched to 1/2 power & a switch that makes it more aggressive (negative feedback resistance something or other)
(this resistance mod w/o the sag mod sounded really bad ass by the way..now it sounds..I don't know, not great on the bottom end)

through vintage 30 ( I don't have any alnico blues yet)

Very cool what you have going on there.

thanks!
I know the ac30 circuit might work better w/ alnico blues...as far as being similar to the randall pre amp thing or something,

but what about the jtm45 circuit?
I think it could def be used in a hendrix or clapton type vibe
I've never played one in person, is it similar sounding?

from the ones I've seen on youtube, the gain structure seems about right
not sure if the sag mod is making it too spongy or not
I've never played an amp w/ tube rectifier, so it's all new to me

Very hard to tell from the clips. From what I hear it sounds like that family of tones. Those amp .... the originals vary in sound quite a bit.

refreashing, make the amp talk with your fingers instead of mega high gain
