So... you might remember I lucked into this '86 (or '87) Kramer for free and restored it. It was a piece of rusty crap when I got it and I had to gut the electronics and take all the crap off the neck and Floyd:

Well.... I never liked the neck. Too thin and not wide enough... So I had a guy build me a Kramer duck beak neck out of nice birdseye maple. It is beautiful, but the neck was a nightmare to work with. The guy didn't make the Floyd nut shelf deep enough, drilled the holes for the nut off center and got the length of the heel too long. A big pain - the holes for the Floyd had to be filled so holes could be re-drilled... Anyway - everything still worked out great. I decided to replace the Floyd with a chrome one, relaced the jack with chrome as well, put black covers on the Suhr Fletcher-Landau single coils and replaced the bridge hum with a Motor City BlissterBucker with A2 magnet. Anyway, here ya go. Turned out cool:

I love the maple neck and fretboard. Looks Awesome Steve!!

How does it play?

Beautiful neck..! Awesome job. Don't you own a red/white bullseye Kramer too, or am I just making an ass out of myself?

Thanks, guys. It really plays great, but it has that old Kramer beak profile. The neck is fat as hell and 1 3/4 nut. It is a handful... If you don't like that old Kramer profile, you wouldn't like this...

I think you were talking about this Kramer, vultures:

Not a fan of the Pearloid pickguard Bro( I always hated Pearloid anything) but other than that insignificant detail, it looks awesome!!!) I used to have a Kramer that I loved, I forget the model( it was a duplicate of that candy Blue that Reb Beach used to play back in the day) and I loved it, it was my very first Floyd guitar I think... a USA imperial maybe? I dont know..

Id love to have that guitar back...

enjoy My friend, rock out with your junk out!!!

Sweet fiddle Steve. How do you like those pups? I just picked up a neck and middle F/L myself but haven't installed them.

I like 'em - very nice strat tones with pretty low hum - especially compared to the Lollars I have in my Nash '57 Strat clone. I think the Lollars are better (more vintagey) sounding, but you have o deal with alot of hum...

Looks great Steve.

I'll be building another San Dimas Charvel soon. I have a slightly beat up Model 2 that needs a nice Musikraft neck... ;)

All this guitar building talk is making me want to take a saw to my Vigier again.

I love my 80s Kramer. It's the only guitar I have left but I can't bear to sell it.

Couldnt agree more my friend, matter of fact, I live by the motto of "If its free, its me"

Steve,
I saw that guitar at Joels for a few weeks and was waiting for him to finish it so I could get your report on the Blissterbucker. If the Blissterbucker is that good, you should throw one in the red and white Kramer too and sell me the Mojave pickup
