Sounds great per usual! Without hearing A/B clips it's hard to tell the difference for me anyways.

Thanks man.
Yeah... I have a clip with the sozo's but it's boosted with the OD808... so it's not an apples to apples comparison. But take my word for it, the difference is HUGE!

Do you have a PPIMV installed in the super lead?

Had a PPIMV. I wired it up like a 2203. So it's a Pre PIMV

I'm assuming you prefer the Pre PIMV, what was a noticeable difference when switching to a Pre vs the Post?

I very much prefer the Pre PIMV. Several reasons why.
Both are good, but the PPIMV at low volumes sounds awful to me. So I would use the PPIMV + Hotplate. Used that for years! It sounded very good. With Pre PIMV I don't need the hotplate. Sold it to help fund my Splawn 4x12
To me, the Pre PIMV sounds more polished and modern. Not in the sense that it makes the amp sound "modern" in the gain sense. It just sounds like what we're used to hearing. The PPIMV would do odd things to the tone at low volumes.

Thanks for the explanation  . Clip sounds awesome. Hoping to start building a Metro Super Lead Kit in 2 weeks  Hopefully I don't blow it up

You won't blow anything up. If you have questions, you can PM me. I can try my best to answer, but I'm fairly new at this myself. Also try to get the Sozo Vintages (not the standards). I remember hearing a comparison clip between them and the NOS Mustards and there was virtually no difference... But I haven't tried them in person. The Standard ones sound good but they're harsh compared to the real thing.

Yeah, the PPIMV would just screw up the negative feedback too much. I tried everything to compensate for this including changing the 10K resistor for a 47K and 470 to an 820 in the PI circuit...the NFB disconnected entirely with the bottom of the PI grounded and the presence pot disconnected...500k dual gang pot with 47nF caps on each side...etc. ad nauseum.

I ended up ripping it out and going back to NMV.

Yup... I took it out and played NMV for about 30 seconds. It was glorious... painful but glorious.

Wow! It is sooo much more vintagey and musical than it used to be. It has way more vintage plexi marshally goodness. :D

Does sound pretty damn good, I will take your word on the change it made.

Exactly! I can't stop playing it.

LOL!!! Yeah but I forgot to mention the Attenuator with the voltage dropped to about 100V and biased up to that..sometimes its gotta hurt to feel good but not that much hurt!

There's no way I could get away with that in my basement. The acoustics are horrific... Everthing just reflects and I'd go deaf... not to mention my family would kill me!

Sounds a little mushy but still good! I can tell with an eq tweak you'd be there.

I have all NOS Mustards in my 50 watt Metro Plexi. They rock!

Yeah it's mushy because I had it set the way I usually run it with an OD808 in front. I dialed the bass to 4 and put the treble and mids at 8 and it was perfect.

I thought it was all vintage BS, but hey... live and learn right?

I like it! I can't believe you are still tinkering, you are diggin the modding. I got burnt out and just want to play so more power to you!

Agreed. :)

It feels awesome... :D
I can make it brighter by replacing the .0022 with a .022. But then it will lose the plexiness.
