2014 Marshall DSL100H in for some treatment to the Lead channel. Looking for more clarity, definition and a less fizzy and unpleasant top end.
Modded tones, stock amp tone test, explanation of modding approach, the actual mods fully detailed and a walk through of how to make my changes to the amp PCB itself...part II to follow - installing a filter choke!

Wow, you made the worst channel the best channel. Nicely done!

Thanks. It just needs all that bass taken out of the preamp, and let it sing....I have no idea why Marshall release crap like this. Clearly no one there actually plays guitar.

Part II - adding a choke. A bit of theory in this one to explain what a choke is, and what it does.

A few years ago I snagged one of these real cheap, added the oversized ClassicTone OT and a choke and it slayed! I really regret selling it. But I did those mods together, so I don't know how much effect each one had on its own. I have a hankering to do this again. But these amps don't seem as easy to find as they used to be. I'm in no rush, but I think I will do this one again.
