Modern Classic Contour "dimed" sound

I guess the Contour knob on 10 setting, where it takes the freq shelf out of the circuit, is nothing new to MC II owners.

However, I do notice it makes the amp a bit brighter and punchier in comparison. It is a fun take on sounds and tweaking with this amp, anyone else enjoy having that sound available ?

I just find I either have the Contour at like 3 o'clock, or just on 10 max'd taking it out the circuit for that brighter sound which is really fun, and I tend to turn the treble down to noonish when doing so.

I like to experiment with how the contour, presence, treble, and bright knob on the back all effect the high end diffidently. Pretty remarkable.

It's essentially a NFB adjustment dial isn't it?

edit: just saw the other contour thread and confirmed what I thought.

Which means what exactly ? I read that too but am not techy when it comes to amp building. I know my ears tell me it sounds like a high mid shelf when engaged, but when on 10 takes it out the circuit, which to my ears sounds brighter. But i have no idea what it is supposed to be doing according to builder terms.
