 Fuckin' A. Too bad every time I play a MKIV it sounds like SHIT! I keep hearing these clips, and I keep wanting to try them again and again, but every time...

I have the same problem with the MKIV. It just doesn't work with the way I play and/or my guitars/cabs. Either way though, we dont' get along.

Nice sounding clip by the way.

Sounds real good through your old Uberkab...

I dunno Bob - when I get my studio up and running again (looks like I sold everything I need to - I'll get my Mac next week! Then I'm ready to go...), I'm gonna have you play a jam through my settings. I think you would sound killer through it. Low volume is a key aspect with the Mark IV I think. I don't mean bedroom like my last clip, just lower than other amps...

Sounds good to me. Why don't we collaborate on something with only drums that way I can do some rhythm tracks too?

When I recorded my MKIV I did have it up fairly loud... then again, the volume was on like .003 or something but still, it was very loud. ;)

Yeah, I know what you are saying...

Yeah, drum track only. We'll play the MKIV... Two rhythm tracks. Tons of mindless wanking... Business as usual...

Sounds F'n awesome like always!

I love my Mark IV, but I can't get it to sound that good!

Btw.. when you record what is your master and channel volume set at?

I have both volume knobs set to 3. I control my overall volume with my Rocktron Xpression which is setup through the loop. I think the amp set at 3 on both is the magic setting for me. I have gotten pretty good results so far.

That's too bad. You're monster player and I would love to hear you take it for a spin. It's funny how some amps mesh with some but not others.

Are you still playing Bogner amps?

Is that Bogner 2x12?

Yes. Loaded with V30s. I have read that a lot of players don't like V30s with the Mark series amps but mine works real well for my style.

Tasty clip. I do agree on a little less mids though. It's a tad bit too much me thinks. But again, it might be a taste thing.

I agree, Steve. I actually think that both volumes on 3 is the sweet spot (I control the overall volume with my Xpression's output knob). I have run it louder at times and something isn't right with my ears or the amps feel. Could just be my settings. Personally, I love it with V30s.

Thanks for the compliment. Funny enough, it was your Mark IV you were thinking about selling back in May that convinced me to purchase one. I love the custom options you have on your amp.

Cool man, no wonder, when I have 3 on both, it is damn loud, even in tweed setting!

Thanks for the kind words man.

I've been playing my VHT D60 more than anything, although lately I've been in a thrash state of mind so the boosted JMP has been making an appearance. I'm absolutely loving that amp right now. I do have my Shiva and Bogner 2x12 sitting here though... love that amp too.

At first, I didn't really like the tone. But, by the end of the song I actually thought it sounded really damn good.

I had the same problem with the MKIV. I played it for a while and just couldn't get it to sound like I wanted. But, your clip sounds great.

I don't know if you like Tool or not, but if you make another clip could you try something in that style?

I'll give Tool a try. Thanks for listening!
