Satins get the "relic'd" look in no time because of sweat
I have an LTD Arrow satin cherry red that barely gets played, small-partly because I don't want to start "buffing" the finish over time. (Mostly because I havent been playing too much lately at all) and it's just sitting there basically brand new; still has the factory strings on it and everything.
I had also few LTD's and me and buddy were compared them to ESP's and despite the same hardware, ESP's have more full full-bodied sound, more bass and more clarity. Hard to believe for some but it has to be better wood.Thanks for the real world comparison of the Eclipses.Were these all made in Japan Eclipses or LTD models?
Are they neck heavy like SG's?
I really don't care for the weight ratio's of SG's nor the tone so that comparison is educational. I was hoping that using quality mahogany and maple they could retain the LP fatness and shave some weight with some reduced thickness of the body especially with a nice heavy maple cap on top. I also still like the idea of the upper body contour on the back.
I'd still like to play a contoured body and the full thickness Eclipse just to satisfy my own curiosity.....
Any of them has neck dive and they are light and comfortable. Some of the older ESP's have 'that' signature 90's trash growl but again no LP. I have not play FT model either so I'am curious too.Thanks for the feedback on these. Neck heavy guitars are huge NOGO for me. There has to be enough body weight for the guitar to stay put for my tastes.
