Those are what I use. I'm not sure I hear a difference, but I have a pair of '40ers that have been going strong since 2011 and 6 years of heavy gigging.

I use mogami, but prefer the silver tips to gold. I have plenty of gold also. I really only went to them because the d addario.and planet waves got noisy after i ran them over with the computer chairs a few times

No. I once tested two Mogami Golds of the same length and they sounded identical.

I haven't heard a difference with the Golds. Though they do last forever and never break, in my experience. Now Blake started a thread about the Mogami Platinum where he says he does hear a difference, which seems like the vast majority of reviews also agree with. So I now have a new Mogami Platinum sitting next to me that I haven't tested out yet. See what this forum can do to you?
