Anyone tried these? This guy gets some of the worst reviews on forums, but there are always a few guys that like them. I like pointy guitars, and always find myself creeping his website. Just wondering if anyone has real world experience.

I wonder the same. I lust after some of those shapes from time to time.

Just curious, what are some of the bad reviews about him?

I would rather not shit on someone by repeating bad reviews that may be untrue. Especially the guy seems like a nice guy. I actually contacted him about doing a guitar for me, but I was on a big headless kick att the time. He isn't a fan of the headless thing, but he still offered to give it a shot.

I lurk too.
I knew I wasn't alone in liking his site.
Here are a few of my favorite shapes

Here is a good thread on him. Aparently, there was a guy running his mouth, and monson got on there and was really professional and explained a few things. I think most of the bad reviews are people that aren't into pointy guitars...But one cool thing about this thread is that fucknugget engage 757 makes an appearance. What a fucking douche he was.

We have similar taste because I like those shapes alot but there were many that I didn't care for

Wow, he’s got quite the selection. Definitely some wild, imaginative shapes to be had.
As far as pointy guitars go, nobody’s come close to BC Rich IMO, with the Warlock, Bich, Mockingbird, and Ironbird.

Yeah. I would consider myself conservative on his site.

He is definitely influenced by bc rich

Sounds like someone on here needs to order a guitar so that we can gather an opinion from a trusted forumite.

1, 2, 3, NOT IT!

I think he should make me one under the condition that I would give an unbiased review and be his best good friend. I already have a custom V, so Now i need a custom "Warrior" shape. One volume one humbucker, pure fucking tone. I will even make a music video using it.

I am reviving this thread in hopes that we find someone who has experience with his guitars...fingers crossed.

bich and mocky are different from the others in the fact that they are looking slightly different but sound legit as all other guitars before them...enough wood there to sound 'normal' ... surprisingly comfortable to play...sitting down or standing...

the rest of the 'pointfest' is little different...you better have hot pickups and lots of gain to sound thick...IMO only, of course...

Especially the Stealth. The Warlock has some good wood to it. I’ve no experience with the Ironbird.

Damn, first I've heard of them but from looking at the site it looks like he has a billion different models

I have a Monson nomad that Brent built for me back in January 2021. I love it. What would you guys like to know?

Well. First we are going to need pics, cuz porn. But your happiness with.guitar is all i need to know. But you can tell me all about the process of what you specd.

It's a 5 piece walnut/mahogany neck thru with a mahogany body. It has a macassar ebony fret board with a really cool piece of figured ziricote that he used for the top. It's got a simple tuneomatic string thru bridge. I went with a bare knuckle ragnarok for the single bridge pickup.

It has incredible sustain and tone. The combo of tonewoods Brent used and the pickup it has are brutal. I wanted it to sound as heavy as possible while still retaining note clarity on larger dissonant chords that I use and Brent definitely achieved that.

There're pictures on his site and instagram. It's nomad #32
