David Thomas McNaught Single Cut.........the first one. Second one is on the way. These are just bad ass guitars from a great luthier. Scored two on fleabay. Custom ordered a 3rd one which will take a couple months. Replacing all my Les Pauls with these bad boys. WCR pickups, thru body, mahogany - and they stay in tune! Definitely sold on DTM. This one is a really dark blue/teal color top like Tony Rombola's.

Beautiful guitar.
He does make amazing guitars.
Don't get into Nik Hubers, or you'll really be in for it.

Drooled over those for years. Finally got to play one. I was not disappointed. Congrats of the sweet DTMs

I've heard of McNaught guitars but never had the opportunity to play one. Did you originally play one of these and it blew your socks off or did you try it on a whim?

Nice guitar btw.

Its about 9 1/2 lb.

And, I had played one about 4 years ago at a music shop in Houston and remembered how well it played. I finally got so fucking tired of Les Paul's issues and decided to hell with it and went on a hunt.

Awesome guitar, I have been drooling over these for years...never seen one this side of the internet. Congrats.

What are the specs of the one you custom ordered?

DTM makes some killer guitars. Check out his website and you can see him build them from scratch. Works of art

tell us about your custom order!

maybe I need to take new pics of my 2 McNaught SC's and make this a McNaught guitar porn thread. I saw the two you got on ebay, as well - great guitars!
Do both of your's have ss frets?

Gorgeous DTM!

But their better not be any of those "issues" with an R8 headed for Tampa!

I love his double cuts he does. One of the coolest looking guitars I think. Just totally cool

Now that's a guitar love the maple binding on the neck. Well it looks like maple maybe it's not. Either way very nice congrats Steve.

The one I custom ordered is about the same as this, but black top. But, I wanted a Fishman Powerbridge in it and split to go out blended acoustic/magnetic or acoustic to DI and magnetic to the amp. Was going to do up one of my LP's, but decided to do it on this.

Dave make's some beautiful quite tops. But, I am too rough on guitars to own something that needs too much caring for. So, I went black!

Yeah, the neck and body a real maple bound. Looks great and feels sweet.

Yes, the frets are stainless. Don't think I would go back to regular frets again.

I had one a few years ago and stupidly sold it. Looking at the black one from the same guy you got this from, unless you snagged it. It wouldn't replace my LP by a long shot, but I would love a DTM again. I think the only guitars I will ever add to the collection at this point would be a Thorn carbon, DTM VSC or a Huber Dolphin. I have a new Trussart that I pick up Monday, and Luxxtone building me an axe. The DTM would fit in nicely.

Congrats on yours, very cool.

I think he sold that just a few days ago, David. He has a few more that he may put up, but I don't think they are single cuts.

Steve

How do they sound compared to your pauls? Just an excellent playing well built les Paul?
