I forgot about commenting on this pedal. I actually have two of them now, one takes a 9V battery and the other with a 9V Boss plug for the board. They are S/N's 6 and 7. For $65-70, or whatever he charged me for them, which is peanuts....this pedal belongs on every pedal board. Its in a plain aluminum project box with one dial. The boost on it is minimal, only a few dB's, but the pedal is quiet and can be run in front of an already driven amp to provide just enough clean, thick, deep boost for some sweet soloing. It reminds me a little of what Xotic tried to do with their EP Boost but about 10X better. The EP is in the box, the More is on the board. Nuff said.

Did an outdoor gig last weekend and ran both the Suhr and Golub Aldrich modded amps, split with a Lehle P-Split. Ran the Suhr dry, except for the PQ3 always on in the FX loop and the Golub wet with an Intellifex in the loop. Ground control direct to the Intellifex and only a wah and the More pedal up front of both amps. Each amp had its own 412 Bogner. A very simple, but awesome rig it was. The little More pedal made it come alive for soloing and for those moments when you just got to reach out there.

Will throw it on some Aldrich mod clips I am going to do this week so you can hear it. But, for the cost of the pedal, you can't go wrong. I have very little patience for noisy ass OD pedals and boost pedals that color the tone. I got a box full of them from Boss to Xotic. Jerry hit it out of the park on this one.

  Thats what you concider a simple rig?

But I agree about the MORE pedal. Mine is great. I leave mine almost cranked and kick it on for certain leads. Gives a really cool almost compressed fuzz feel. Great price for a cool pedal

Thats funny. Simple Rig Steve....  if you're Doug Aldrich himself, maybe...

Well, simple to control. Midi direct to the FX with no GCP. That's really all I had to keep up with. Everything else is always on. OK, well....simple to operate. A mother-fucker to haul around.......

What Ryan said.........

Jerry...you should kick out a few more pedal designs to supplement the amp business. The current More pedal could be the basis to a pedal similar to a Rocket Fuel where you have a Boost and an OD with two switches in the same housing. Call the Boost side "A Little More" and the OD side "A Lot More". Same plain aluminum box. You've got a winner on the "More" though, as it is. It is "Just Enough"

I wonder how hardwood pedal enclosures would work out? :)

I have an EP Booster and love it. How would you compare the More pedal to the EP?

Hey Hoff. How would you describe it compared to the Koko boost?

The time of the echoplex and the time this circuit in its un-modded form (stratoblaster) were the same. the JFET used is very tube like thats why people loved the preamp in the echoplex. Some things cant really be improved with time. this jfet goes back to the late 60's. I just found a substitute thats even spongier.

Will the guts of this pedal fit into a EP Booster size enclosure? I'm looking at the smallest footprint possible. For this reason I was looking at the EP and This1smyne boosts. This pedal could be a possible option...

I can get it into the enclosure thats just a hair bigger than the EP. it will not have a battery only the jack.

Its also available as an on board preamp. stash it in your guitar and have it on a mini toggle switch ..

I find the EP noisy in front of a driven amp. That, I don't like at all, although it has a good tone. The More is a much better boost for a few dB's for boosting. Has the same basic tone as the EP.

Good to know. I wouldn't need the battery anyway. Couple of questions:

How many Db's is the boost?

Can it run only on 9V or can you go higher or lower without hurting the pedal?

dont know the DBS, but you jack it to 12volts. prob sound even better. the jfet is a tuff little biatch. durable littlebeast thats been around forever and in tons of higher priced pedals.

OK thanks. The boost I'm using now goes to 20 db, but the most I've ever used is 10. The This1sMyne one goes to 35 db and I think the EP goes to 25 db. I don't need anywhere near that much. I'm just trying to beef up some single coils for soloing. This would not be a 'always on' pedal for me.

this circuit was originally designed for single coils. do a search on the stratoblaster. also search rangemaster treble booster. I also love the screamin bird. So I took all three and used what I liked about each.

you would love it for a single coil booster.
