Is it good for just dropping your guitar 1/2 Step down??? Thinking about getting one to do just that...

however...
I cannot find anything wrong with it. yes, it does sound more artificial the lower you drop, but for a halftone, to my ears, i can't honestly say i hear the tonesucking or artificiality everyone's talking about. Look at a lot of the reviews and the comments people have had about them, a good proportion of them were written before the thing was released based on a preview of a prototype shown for demo at a trade show. there was problems with tonesucking and latency then. not anymore. I had seen it advertised, thought "mmm good idea" and tried it without reading reviews and though it was great. I'm only looking to drop a halftone max, and at that level it was perfect. I played it with a strat thru a hotrod deluxe and stock tubescreamer. no issues with clean tones and no issue with overdrive. i went and read the reviews afterwards and did just not hear the issues everyone spoke of.
you hear A LOT about the latency and how people can hear it, this suprises me because the latency quoted is well below the level a human ear can detect.
It's going to be on my pedal board at some point regardless of human machine political relations.
