basically just looking to give myself a very simple accompaniment, mostly to solo over in the bedroom, etc but I might explore the idea of using it on stage.

i know guys like Marc Okubo and Tosin Abasi use a Boomerang....is there anything more "bang for the buck priced"

and before anyone goes on about it's easy to do with your DAW/recording equipment- I agree, but I'm thinking of something to use on the fly/possibly on stage.

Thanks ahead of time my Rig Talk brothers!

for bone simple bedroom use i'd probably go for the boss rc-2/3 whichever you can find cheapest =)

the biggest drawback for eventual live use is one button to do everything, double tap to stop etc.., but for recording by yourself it's great, it even has drumtracks with it, if you absolutely need two buttons you can get the rc-20/30xl but you get used to the double tap

i use to have one but couldn't really use it for live stuff, as it seems to quantize to a certain tempo, which is great if you're by yourself, but not always the best with a drummer, unless you're super loud so that he hears it properly =)

for live looping i use the one in my M9 along with the hold function of my boss dd-6 (5second phrase sampler) the play once function is extremely useful and also the half speed (if you record a phrase in half speed mode you can basically double the speed/octave it while playing it back very cool), however i think for live looping a good old akai headrush does, i still have one at home just for that, it's just a noisy sob as it's quite old now
