Post your opinions.......

I have tried the Ibanez 808, switched to Maxon 808. I find it sounds much better but still do not like the slight colouring.

Looking for tips of the most transparent od or at least one that has a kick ass color for dry metal tones.

(Klon is banned from this thread due to pricing) :D

Those overdriven severely change the frequency curve, not slightly either. Cuts bass and highs which is what tightens and smooths hi gain metal tones. I don't think your looking for an overdrive that is transparent but rather one that has a different frequency curve.

I say try the empress para eq pedal. It allows you to dial in any frequency curve you want and also has a transparent clean boost for pummeling e amps input for more compression and gain.

This sounds about right ^^^^

thanks

Koko Boost. Transparent, or pretty damn transparent clean boost on one side, a mid boost on the other with three flavors of mid boost to chose from.

I have been considering this along with Fryette SAS

+1  Just pick up a Koko and I love it. As for a kick ass colored tone Suhr Riot gets my vote but it can be a transparent OD/Distortion pedal when dialed right.

A Pual C Tim or Timmy has to be right up there with transparent overdrives. I have a Timmy and really like it.

Good luck finding a V1 model though...

I'm wanting to try a Tim or Timmy next.

Brown Tone Electronics "Hoochie Mama", and his hotter version "Macho Man". Hoochie Mama is really flat out glorious! I've had this for awhile, and it still blows my mind! Super awesome pedal. Worth checking out
Peace, Wade

Just picked up a Majik Box Rocket fuel and love it. Very warm and keeps your tone in tact. Clean boost and overdrive in the same pedal.
