Diezels in general; can't say enough about the VH4, VH4S and the Hagen.

Close runner up is the 20thA XTC

For me, it's my Diezel Herbert, followed by the VHT Ultra Lead I had.

Wait, WTF!?!?!?! I posted in this thread twice...

Least I gave the same answer - consistency is key

Um, ya man, they're out there all the time on ePay and CL and even the classifieds here.

You may need to pony up a bit more reputation on this forum before you start doing business with anyone, but overall, you hit the right spot.

Lotta Diezel, Bogner and CCV's mentioned  I think that about covers it. My most versitle is a 100w Diezel Einstein w/ ch. 1 mode mod, makes it a 4 channel amp with a 2nd MV thats footswitchable. I own a Mesa MK III also, with a few mods it's a pretty dang versitle 3 ch. amp too.

P.S. I take it you mean most versitle in a live playing application where you can't adjust the amps controls, so multi-channel amps are what your talking about?

Old school here. I have a 78 Fender Twin Reverb and I can't get a bad sound from it no matter what sorts of distortions or effects I put to it.

Selling my Twin & Super Lead was a mistake. Easy one of the best sounds I had. If not the best.

I have played a lot of these amps, if not most of the amps in this thread and I would prefer a Mesa 3 channel Dual Rec, Bogner 20th Shiva, PWE Event Horizon, Fryette Sig:X, Bogner XTC (although I think the Shiva kills the XTC), and a Mark V but I am not the biggest fan of the Mark V tone, too narrow compared to the fullness of a Rectifier or Sig:X.

Versatility in an amp is an odd term, every amp has it's own flavor, and for me a couple of solid tones go a long way. I think there is way more versatility in say a HSS guitar.
Having said that I just love the Bogner 100B XTC for "versatility".
