First Metallica song I've actually liked since Re-load record.

Jesus Kirk, learn a new lick and try playing without a wah. Maybe he just does it to be funny... I dunno.

But the song is cool.
 
I'm a huge Metallica fan and I loved Hardwired. So, so excited for this record.

That being said, I'm not sure how I feel about this song. It's good, solid. Production is great. I don't like the "sold your soul" part very much. The verses are much stronger, same with the chorus.

Totally forgettable solo, once again. Thanks Kirk.

Couldn't be more excited for the album but this song hasn't done much for me.

I thought his solo was supposed to represent a bunch of moths mindlessly fluttering around a bug zapper. The director of the video seems to convey that since the only time you see moths in the room with them is during his solo, directly in front of him.

There's a crap ton of wah at the 3:40 mark.
 
I'm liking all the Slayer style riffs in these new songs.

Man, i'm happy with this! I like it better than the first released track. Very excited about this record, I hear similarities to many of the classic albums. This will be the first Metallica Album I'll buy since Black. Nothing for a classic Metallica fan to be disappointed with here IMO. WILL BUY!
 
Sounds great to me. Looking forward to the release. The Kirk hate is getting really really old.
 
I f hate metallica but apart from the solo this was a GOOD song...!!!!
 
Almost an A+. Solo was distracting and the last verse coulda been left out. They FINALLY have good production again.

From first listen, the solo licks were direct rips from 4 solos in other songs. He stats with his classic blues-in-a-metal-song triad thing, sliding into key up the whole fretboard, goes into the usual weedly-weedly which is the same 6 or so notes he always plays and puts wah on to make it sound like he's playing something interesting.

I should put a video together comparing each part of the solo to the older songs where he plays the same damn thing. So lame.

I am sorry but I think they are a bunch of crybabies. I feel sorry for Trujillo. I understand why he took the gig but damn... Lars and James are a couple of bitches, IMHO. I don't have time for that and they haven't written anything worth 2 shits in years.
 
I left this forum around 3 years ago and it's incredible how the same immaturity and "It sucks brah!" mentality still reigns.
