I re-recorded the rhythm track of an old song of mine with the 2nd Degree Black Belts installed in my Edwards John Sykes Les Paul.
The guitar is detuned to Drop B with a set of 012 to 060 gauge strings on it.
For those that are interested, the song is called The Ancient Ones and is my tribute to H P Lovecraft.

:)

Heavy.. Groovy.. Funky..DIG IT! Those pups sound good!

Laying in bed next to sleeping wife and can't find my earbuds.
Marked for later.

Dude that sounds awesome!! That has such a great Satriani vibe but heavier. I really dig that groove, tone, etc.

I'm still digging my 2nd degree BBs too. I've been using them on some recordings

Kinda sounds like a heavy tuned down version of Crosstown Traffic in parts , very cool

Spanish Castle Magic...you may want to change that around a bit if publishing that. I'm sure that Hendrix estate has an army of lawyers.

You're right , don't know why I was thinking Crosstown Traffic but heck I had the artist right

Ha! A friend of mine who's a Hendrix fanboy said the same thing. Said the intro reminds him of Spanish Castle Magic.

All good. I checked the tab for Spanish Castle Magic and whilst there's some similarity in how it sounds, it's actually quite different to my opening riff.

Spanish Castle Magic (in Eb tuning):

The Ancient Ones (in Drop B):
----------------------------------------------------

---3----3----7--------------7----7---------7------
---3----3----5--------------5----5---------5------
---3----3--------------0-------------0--0------0--

Plus the other 95% of my song (verses, chorus, melodies, solos, etc) aren't even remotely similar to SCM.

Cheers

The king of the pickup demos. Glad you're keeping up with them man.

Sounds great as always.

Sounds great!

I was just contemplating a new bridge pickup in my 13' R7 too...

What's the specs on the BB's? A5 mags?
