How do these compare in the bridge position for metal?

I'd like to know also!!
I had a Solution bridge and loved the low end tightness and punch.
Coulda used a bit more mids and something was weird with the high end,
could just be how I hear things though and what I'm after.

I'm in search of a bridge pickup with the Solution lows a bit more mids
and cutting highs that cut for drop tunings and sound good for leads.... Any suggestions??

Ask Wade to wind you that. I'm sure he could do it...I remember reading about someone who had their Afawyu re-wound for just what you described. I have a 2nd Degree blackbelt that sounds very organic in the mids...very rich and complex midrange with a lot of clarity...I prefer lower output pickups though (less compression). The thing about the 2nd Degree Blackbelt is that is pushes the amp pretty good for not being high output.

if possible, not just these 2 models, but motor city vs bkp in general? of course id rather support motor city, wade lives about 15 mins from me :) , but im just curious based on peoples experiences here --

Equivalent quality.

Buy American.

Wade will give you custom service.

Never heard of a custom Bareknuckle.

+1 on Everything
I don't even have my Motor City pickups yet (being shipped right now) but I can tell you that Wade seems intent on making sure these work for me. He has mentioned several times that he can and will tweak them if I don't like them.

Dude, He is right down the road from you? This is no brainer, he will make you what you want.

Yep, a no-brainer indeed. He`d be awesome to get pickups from in person. I wish that *I* lived 15 min.s down the road from Wade!

of course its what i will probably do when i need some killer pickups. i just have a tried warpigs (bkp) and havent heard motor city stuff in person -- anybody have good clip references?

Haven't tried anything from Bareknuckles but this is video is with my LP that is loaded with Motor City Solutions and played through my Roccaforte stereo rig with a Rocca linear boost.

I think that was psychodave, but I believe it was a total custom wind wade did for him after he got one of those, and was less than happy. He was real happy with the custom wind. Id like to try one of those ;)

Tim makes custom windings too
never played a Motor City, but Wade is a great guy and seems to really know his pickups, just like Tim
but... different brands, different pickups, different tones
never buy anything by putting a "made in ****" label or just because they have equivalent build quality
I never heard anything that sounded like a Miracle Man
not my favorite pickup, but it has a really unique tone due to its awkward wiring specs
I'm ordering an Afwayu in the next couple weeks... or maybe another Holy Diver...

I have a MCP Solution in one of my LPCs and a BKP Warpig in another one of my LPCs currently. Both sound great but I prefer the Solution. Super ultra tight with a great high end. I don't find it very scooped at all. I also had a BKP Nailbomb, and a WCR Iron Man and the Solution is better than both of them for me.

AKAIK, Tim is no longer doing Custom Winds. :dunno:

can you do a full comparison of all of those? wp vs nb vs wcr vs sol.? how do they fair for low tunings? i have a guitar with warpigs, havent tried nailbombs though (seem intriguing)

Sorry but I disagree, I will ALWAYS support my economy here at home first and foremost, especially when the quality is equivalent.

It's been a while since I owned those pups...I remember the Nailbomb being bright but I still really liked it. It sounded to me like a really hi fi version of a JB (of which I have many). I tune from standard and down to C depending upon the guitar, but the best pickups (for me) for low tunings have been the Warpig and the Solution.

Here is a clip of the Warpig in a C tuning: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=53272

Tim is top notch, and if you like one of his pickups but it isn't quite there for you, he's happy to re-wind it to your spec.
