Mr Scary Guitars

Well I had to go to the city and pickup my daughter at Union Station and thought "I should head to Make' N Music and try out the Friedman BE-100". Well saw one of two Mr Scary's (Burnt Tiger) hangin on the wall and I decided to try it. Well it is pretty damn good guitar. Played nice except I don't like the 6100 frets, sounded good, and of course looks awesome as hell, but a little too thin sounding for me and there was a treble bite on the high end strings, which could be attributed to the Invisible Pumpkin pickup or since it has an Ash body. Very light Ash body though. Is it worth $4,200? Well it would be for some people.

4200 smackaroos, it better be exactally what I want down to the vol pot placement. Just saying. I was actually on the Mr. Scary website the other day checking his line out. I saw him offering his JFrog bones replicia with an all black finish.

If I had to speculate hes not making these body. I know there was a cocksucking luthier cwg who did a cnc replica for him a few years ago and wouldnt be suprised if he's suppling GL with them as well as those tiger carves hes got going too.

FYI to forum: cwg is a thief. Hes ripped me off as well as many others. Theres a huge thread over on the jemsite forum thrashing him. As well as his buddy Simms. These guys are dirtbags.

Well I had to go down to the city to pick up my daughter and Amtrack is never on time and when I have time to kill in a cool guitar store, it is 20 minutes early. So, I got to spend a whole 30-35 minutes there. Damn it!!!

I will let you know next time I go down there for sure and we and blow things up.

Well I wouldn't and he is one of my favs. I actually stay away from signature guitars. Not that the Mr. Scary line is a signature guitar, but I would spend my money on something like a Luxxtone instead.

Brian @ Schroeder (next to Make'N) is my amp tech for things I can't handle myself. I'm picking up an amp next week, maybe I'll have to stop in and check that out. I'm certainly not in the market for a new guitar, but I'd love to check out that Friedman.

Yeah, you should check it out. It sounded awesome. but the set-up that I played at the LA amp show and at Tone Merchants sounded better to my ears since they were paired up with the appropriate cabs/speakers (V30s on bottom/Greenback RIs on top).

Had one of the 2 Black and white Serpents he used on the Shadowlife Doken tour. Also had his ESP Custom Ultratone Tricked out with a Floyd. ALso one of his Kami III he used on the Monster of Rock tour.
Had COA signed by him and the president of ESP for the Serpent and the Ultratone. But the Kami I bought it off a guy who purchased it from him directly.
That Ultratone was by far the BEST SOUNDING Guitar I have ever heard.
Here is a pic of the serpent and the COA.
Dont have any of the other 2. It was long before I got into computers and whatnot.

I have seen even more hideous ones than this one from him. Lynch should not be allowed anywhere near a bandsaw, if he is even remotely involved anyways.

Man....back in the late 90's.....up to about 2003....I was a HEAVY guitar collector. Was overseas ....making a good amount of $$$.....didnt even play. Just bought and sold. Had around 400 electrics thru the years. Was into "Rock Star" guitars....and man....I had some GOOD ONES!
These were just a few of the bunch.
Much better these days with 3 guitars and 2 amps and playing more.

Yeah....it was bad...
Was picking up Les Paul Custom shops on Ebay for $900!!
Original Charvel San Dimas....all under a grand.
Had one of Matthias Jabs own White/Black stripe Explorers....had it verified by Gibson as well.
Damn.....those were the days.
