I've been undergoing a massive clear out of guitar gear, amps, pedals, that I don't have the inclination nor the time to use. I decided to downsize to simple set up that meets my needs and doesn't look like a waste of money just sitting in the corner. The cash does come in handy.

I recently grabbed one of those vox tonelab st things fairly cheap, which works good as I wanted a preamp/DI type unit that I can plug into a mixer.

Funny thing though, as I was a buying the tonelab I saw a cheap bass hanging on the wall, and thought I'd would be good to have one just lying around to mess around on and for others to play.

Thing is, now I have found myself playing bass more than I did guitar.. to my own suprise. Lacking a bass amp though, I am running it through the tonelab on a clean amp with compression/chorus and it doesn't sound half bad. I have a JBL Eon 15 which I can use to go amped besides using headphones for practice.

So this begs the question, what do other people use if they want to use a multieffects unit to alternate between guitar and bass?

i play bass and guitar through the same rig with one of the bands i'm in

i use the same pedalboard for both bass and guitar , running through sansamp pedals into a power amp - Full Range/PA cab and a bass cab for more bassy stuff,
i used a hiwatt into a bass cab before, and while the bass sounded great , guitar was so so, using sansamp into a FR cab and bass cab seems to be the best compromise

tbh i don't use many effects with the bass, sometimes reverb/delay, the barber tone press compressor usually stays on, however as it's more for guitar, with the other bass i use some of the woofy low end seems to get lost which may or may not be a bad thing

I have a POD HD500 and an Axe-fx that both have bass amp models. They work well....

I have also always kept around a Sansamp BDDI that is an awesome mini-rig for bass. I just plug it into my computer and it sounds awesome...

LOL at that.. they all have 1 bass amp and 1 bass cab.

But seriously I'm not that picky.. Even the bass sounds pretty alright through my tonelab ST, I wouldn't bother buying something else unless it had greater than 1 bass amp/cab option.

I have toyed with the idea of buying a GT6B and just using it for guitar.
