What about its Floyd Rose? Is it an original one? Pickups?

Thanks

gotoh floyds from 1996-2012, Im not sure what the newer one is but I think they switched manufacturers. The pup's are custom wound dimarzio's. Its the same pup from the ebmm evh, they never changed them bc of how popular they were. They say the pups are pretty close to the tone zone and air norton.

It's a great guitar. It has a nut width of 1 5/8, for some people it's too small if you aren't used to it. Back of the neck feels great because it's not painted or glossed. I think they only use gun stuck oil. For me I wish the frets were bigger, I think playing nothing but jumbo's have made any other fret size weird for me. Also the bridge only dives probably because it's meant for a D-Tuna to be added to it so it's a non floating trem.

The small frets always made me sell them off. I do like the neck size and shape though. The body shape isn't my favorite either.

^^^if the frets were bigger the necks would be perfect. If you're serious about buying one, don't visit the ernie ball forum. Quite possibly the biggest group of jackasses in the internet guitar community.

If I'm not mistaken, the fretboard radius on the Axis is 10" vs. Peavey Wolfgangs which are 15".

My personal favorite guitars. Love the sound, the feel and the overall balance of them. Very comfy to play, necks all have that broke in feel. Didn't care for the body style at first but it grew on me...now I love that too

I just sold mine after 9 years or so. It was a great guitar, lovely neck, but I guess my tastes just changed. The look is something of an acquired taste I guess..

Eb mm makes fantastic guitars. The Axis is one of them!!! Awesome player that sounds great.

If they only had a forearm cutaway...

+1 on the shitty forum.

I hear you're not allowed to say ANYTHING but glowing positive reviews or you get banned.

That about sums it up. That and van halen is a very touchy subject. I got banned for trying to sell a guitar. The mod was a complete dick about it. Weirdos LOL!!

yup, Last year I bought a brand new axis tribute in green. When it arrived it already had neck pocket cracks, again,it was brand new and hadn't been played yet. When I went on the forum to tell about it(not complain...yet) I got flamed saying it was normal. It was at this point I got agitated explaining a brand new guitar shouldn't have come with cracks in the neck pocket. Then the man himself Big Papa come in on the subject and I quote " can we just lose you as a customer." Ive had many ebmm's,mostly evh's and I will be selling my last one as soon as the body gets back. Like everyone said, small frets

This, along with the smaller frets have always been my problem with them. I really do like the neck shape and 1 5/8 neck width though.

I came to the realization that I can't stand ANY guitars (or amps) that EVH has designed! I almost think he puts out stuff that is annoying to play - so people can't copy his tone, or whatever.

Small frets, small radius, awkward body style, hard to adjust trem action. No thanks.

Its my #1. It sounds amazing and feels better than amazing.
Its dependable. it can play any type of rock and roll well.
Its floyd is a gotoh unit and stays in tune superbly well. I like how its dive only and I don't have to worry about stability issues.
The neck is very comfy and has quite the quilt on it.

heres a picture of mine-

Quite the opposite

His guitars and amps play and sound great imo...although I hate the new EVH headstocks

It's a great guitar

Once you know that, it all comes down to personal preferences
