So if anybody has experience with these Musicom switchers I'd appreciate some help as Im asking around cause we all know its the worst when you research a piece of complicated Midi gear, and then turns out it doesn't work for you. Im only needing 5-7 loops but need 4 full midi functions, an expression input assignable to presets, amp switching for tip/ring only, ability to run stereo effects and two amps is a plus but only use that from home not gigs, and something that's easy to program.

The MusicomLabs EFX M62 IF works properly and does everything it says in manual would be my first choice.
6 loops and does everything except stereo effects I think.

The MusicomLabs EFX MKIV: Now Im sure if anyone has one this is the unit they have being so popular, but I like a little smaller footprint. Has 10 loops, more function controls, everything the 62M has, SONG AND SETLIST MODE: this is awesome, but not sure the M62 has the full mode. Also has dedicated bank switches as the 62M you have to hold down button to get in mode and them switch.

Anyway, my computer is old and not sure the editors would work great, but I'm looking for one that will be the last switch I'll get. So any thought on one over the other? Any suggestions besides another switcher would be appreciated.

Yea I love the Es-8 order routing and couple other stuff, but don't need one that big. I talked to many Musicomlabs and switcher gear heads last couple weeks and pulled trigger today on Musicomlab EFX M62. Has all the features I need with song and setlist mode and. Full midi, and amp Ch switching. Only 7 in the US now and took forever to find one. Can't wait.. Will report back.

I've been looking at the Musicomlab units too. Never heard of the Boss one until now, I'm sure it'd work very good, but it's a little big compared to the smaller EFX 62m. I don't have any experience building a pedalboard, and I got a few too many pedals over the years. I just want to get some of my pedals into a basic setup. The Trailer Trash pro series is the board I've been thinking about using. I'm just aiming for a basic board thats fairly easy to transport.

My Pedals

Polytune tuner
JCantrell Wah
MXR smart gate
MXR bass octave
MXR octave fuzz
MXR evh flanger
Hardwire DL8
J Rockett Archer
Tortuga dirty martini chorus
Tone freaks buff puff
Tone freaks naked od
Tone freaks severe
Blackarts destroyer
Blackarts black sheep
VintageFX skullfuzz

I was planning on using one fuzz pedal on my board. I could always switch them up. What if any other any other pedals would y'all recommend for a basic setup?
Phaser? Equalizer?

Thank in advance for the input/pointers on setting up a board with these pedals

How much was the m62? Where did you buy it from?

I ordered the M62 today on Reverb. Calling trailer trash on my next day off.

Thats cool! Yea I've been waiting for the 62M to pop up too. I ordered from Reverb, from the Guitar Sanctuary they were actually really cool when I spoke with them. I've been wanting to downsize my board for awhile now, and since I only use about 5 pedals in front of amp, three in amp loop:Mobius, Timeline and WET V2, and expression controller to all the time-based pedals in any different patch and amp Ch switching.. it should do everything I need. Editing the 62M should be pretty easy with out any PC editor Musicomlab has been know to release. But hope they release one for it within 6 months.

So now I'm planning on a total pedalboard rebuild, but the cool thing about selling pedals and effects is you can almost get away without spending much money if you sell or trade and that what I've been doing.

Yup, that's where I ordered too. I'll probably go with a trailer trash 28"x 16. Let them pre wire it for me, don't really know the total cost. I dont think ive ever used more then 2 pedals at one time. It'll be nice to finally have some pedals on a board instead of laying around

Are you still using the 62M. I've been waiting on the Boss ES-5 but the 62M looks like it has more to offer and it's a bit cheaper. Just wondering what you think a few months in.

Yea I'm still using it and really like it. Yea that would be a hard decision with the 62M and if the ES5 was out around when I was hunting a 5 loop midi controller. Guess I would have probably still went with the Musicomlab for the simple reason that the company proven and established itself with producing pro quality units that many gigging musicians have experience with and would have more feedback on programming help since many use them. But really like the ES5 also and looks super easy to program, just don't know about the roadworthiness on the ES's yet.

Thanks for the reply. For me, the 62M is a bit more appealing than the ES5 because of the IN/OUT jacks for the 5th and 6th loop. That gives so much flexibility. I have a Mobius and Timeline that I would keep in the loop of my amp and control only via MIDI. I wouldn't use a loop on the 62M. However, I could take a non-MIDI reverb and go from the Timeline to IN6, put the reverb in Loop 6 and then go from OUT6 to the loop return of my amp. That would allow me to use all 3 pedals in my amp loop and only use a 62M loop for the one non-midi pedal that's in my FX loop.

Plus you can use loops 5 and 6 as a stereo loop. If you wanted, you could stack 2 or 3 stereo midi pedals there. Just more options than the ES5.
