I think he's honestly a genius.. He goes to shitloads of companies, gets free gear because he lets them use his name.. Think about how much gear he's got cause of all his sponsorships?

A lot of musicians who are endorsed are basically "renting" the gear. Not sure how that works with sig stuff.

to be honesty he hasn't shown much faith/dedication to marshall so a signature preamp doesnt really make sense.

I don't care how much of a whore he is. IMO, he is one of my top riffers and I've always thought his tone was decent at it's worst. I really hope it's a preamp! Although in all honesty I really don't think it will be a preamp.

I could be wrong, but I believe at one time -back in the late '80's Dave was one of the only guitarists who actually had a true endorsement from Marshall. I seem to remember an interview with Nick Bowcott (ex Grim Reaper, now works for Marshall) where he said Dave was the only person with the endorsement. I think one of the '80's Marshall catalogs had a picture of Dave with a Marshall and that was the only guitarist in the catalog.

Like I said, I could be wrong, but someone here may know more.

Belive me if I was in his shoes I would do the same. Some of the stuff he has put his name on I do not like. This one could be very cool. I have always been a fan of his work/ tone/ people he works with / etc.

why wouldnt dave take every endorsement, i think it would be stupid if he didnt.
i guess musicians are supposed to say "no thanks guys, i wanna be hardcore to my fans and not endorse stuff because it will make me money and ill be considered a whore and sell out".
people should take every chance they can to make a few bucks because it your fame wont last forever and they shouldnt have to apologize for making money.
