I'm using one on a Reinhardt V100 Friedman KS (Full Clean, JBE, Depth Mod)

The loop signal path is MXR Smart Gate - MXR Carbon Copy - Hardwire Reverb - MXR 10 Band EQ

When I kick on the Carbon Copy it sounds like someone is throwing a blanket over the cabinet, definite loss of presence.

Is this surprising?

What are the top recommendations for a delay in the BE loop?

Thanks!

I've got the MXR carbon copy delay and use it on the non-tube buffered effects loop of my BE-100. I actually get a bit of a volume boost when I kick it on. I have a Boss DD-3 too, which I like better.

That's not uncommon for analog delays.

That's right. Very dark in the loop. Get a Hardwire dl8 works great.

Got a DL8 coming on Friday I have issues with the carbon copy as well!

Dl8!in the loop of the SS100 sounds much better than the Carbon Copy! Really digging it! Thanks for the advise Dave!!

No problem. Love that delay. It's very lexicon sounding.

dave,

for reverb pedals in the loop what are your preferences? Presently using a Neunaber Wet.

Need to try the DL8

Your pedal is good. I also like the reverb from Hardwire.
