Has anyone here compared them side by side?

I know they're different circuits but I can't find many opinions online of which people like better.

I like the volume and gain sliders on the newer version 10 bands and that makes it more appealing plus it's new but there's something about that old blue one that draws me in. Maybe because it's "vintage" idk.

Looking for opinions on which is better and/or differences between the two.

"Vintage" doesn't always equate to better. I've been using the new ones for 10+ years and love them. Plus, doesn't the old blue one use a dedicated ac cord?

It does, plus it does not have the bypass switch.

The newer ones seem to be a lot better as far as features but was curious about any sound differences between the two.

The blue 6 band is noisey as fuck compared to the new ones. The blue ones have more gain, tho. I have a couple of the old blue ones, and I never use them. I'd use the new ones every time.

Just sold my 70's blue MXR EQ - like everyone said, no bypass & noisy as hell. Glad it's gone

What are those 70's blue one's going for nowadays? I have one that's in great shape but don't use it. You know how people get about the vintage ones. lol. How they have mojo and stuff.

Depends on condition and buyer.

They're anywhere between like $60-$100 at the moment on Reverb and eBay.

I did just score an "ok" condition newer model on the cheap though and pretty stoked.

My new 6 band is a loud hissy pos as well, go with something else, I went to the boss GEQ7

That is very true. I had a newer 10 band previously and there's tons of noise when not in use but having everything on.

I think there's some mods out there for that and decimators but man when you throw that in the loop it sounds great when you're actually playing.
