Thinking about running these with my wah pedal?

What are your opinions on the MXR micro amp pedal, are the new ones any good? How about the ones from the 80's or 90's?

I see they are all priced the same but wondering if there was a difference in tone or just a "better" one I should look out for?

I have owned 3 Micro Amps. 80's, 90's, and I am guessing my current one is early 2000's. I couldn't A/B them because I had them at different times and used the with different amps. I would say that they all sounded the same to me. I almost always set them at about 1:00.

Seems very transparent to me and it just hits the input harder. Starts to break up (or just hits the front end hard enough to make this happen) after about 2:00. Works great as a stacker too. I always keep it first in the chain and use it to hit another boost or alone. If you need a volume boost for leads, it works very well in the loop for that.

You should ask this to Mark Day (FKA Sam Hill) - in most of his clips I think he is using one or even two of them, guess current production units.

I never used Boost, or EQ for leads, I always just used the Micro Amp
I thought it worked great for a bump in volume during fills and leads without changing the tone..

One of the better boosts I've used IMO. I have an old 70's version and a newer version. They sound very similar although the older one does seem a little warmer. It's a set and forget pedal that works with almost any amp well and like others have said, works great before another boost or OD.

my main boost now. stay fairly transparent until you start turning it up past 3:00.
