You can always plug it in direct to your interface and play it through your computer

Cant you run it in the effect loop of your amp on a clean channel?
Congrats!!

If I do that, then isn't it a glorified TC Electronic G Major/Force/System/etc? lol :)

Congrats!! And ya, you can always play it through the loop of your amp(s) in the meantime, or go DI.

no, It will be using the power amp of one of your amps. the pre amp of the amp will be unused, and the axe fx will be the preamp. Just plug one of the axe-fx's outs into the return of an amps fx loop. the fx loop on the amp has to be series, it won't work with a parallel loop.

I know that VHT's are the ultimate Holy Grail power amp with the Axe FX, but having already spent $1500 on the AxeFX, close to $2000 on the power amp ends up quite a pretty penny :/ Still...considering it.

The grand prize! :) Excellent post. I'll try it through each of my amps and see which one sounds best!

Okay, I just hooked it up into my Mesa Rectoverb's FX loop in the return so that the Axe FX is the pre and the Mesa is just the power.

Some of the presets are absolute garbage, and some are good, and a few are amazing. I love the Plexi sound and that's the one I've been playing the most.

However, I just don't see this cutting through a mix. I need to hear this through a dedicated power amp before I decide that this is a room volume practice amp on steroids. If it is, I'm flipping it because that's not worth $1500 to me.

Don't get me wrong, it sounds amazing (if you use the right preset or dial in the right sound). Here's a quick clip I did. Its from an iPhone so its not great...

If you don't like it through the Mesa power section chances are you won't like it with a dedicated amp.

^That as there will be no real difference ...maybe slight tonal from the tubes but not much ....

Cutting through the mix has to do with frequency only. The axe has more frequency range than the amps it models. If you're not cutting turn the knobs until you do.
