So pleased with how this looks. This is a custom burst option not available on the builder on Joe’s site. I love the way the flame pops after having been finished. I’ve never seen spalt that had flame to it so I’m doubly stoked.

There’ll be vids of course once I have it in-hand. Joe still has his finish and setup stuffs to do before shipping.

For those interested, the offset guitar I use in a LOT of my demos is a Balaguer as well. Also using the Feral Humbucker and I love it. Joes Tuners are quite good as well and made where the Hipshot Tuners are made. Pretty sure they’re an 18:1 ratio.

I’m very interested in this Monolith stacked humbucker in the neck.

AMAZING
you've got great taste it looks sort of like a jungle

Wow , beautiful guitar Jer . I've been messing around on there website with a single cut build , that could be hard on my wallet . The only thing I wish they did was to offer stainless steel jumbo frets .

Thanks guys! I am pleased as punch about how the finish came out.

Honestly, any builder that has dealt with me will attest, I lament about EVERYTHING! I overplan, overthink, etc. Joe was SUPER patient with me and would only slap me around a little! LOL! He was great to work with and given that you really can't see the custom bursts options when you order (he has standard bursts in the builder), I was super stressed. Between the top and color I am over the moon.

This color came about by me sending Joe a pic of a TON of fancy bursts and I think it looks better than every example I sent him. His finishes are stellar. Check out his Instagram to see what I mean.

I already know the guitars play great and his pickups sound pretty damn righteous. I think mine is the only one with the Monolith stacked hum bucker currently. It wasn't even released "in the wild" when I ordered. Also pretty sure this is the first spalted drop top Archetype.

I'd call it "forest burst" rather than "cthulhu" but whatever works :) just out of curiosity, what would you compare the pickups to? Certain types of Dimarzios or Duncans? Something else more "high end" like Bareknuckles? How's the output/articulation? Haven't bought a guitar in years, but this could well be the next purchase if I do....thanks!

That guitar looks badass, I bet it looks great onstage under lights. Friggin sweet.

Well it was initially dubbed the Douche Bag burst... (inside NAMM joke amongst a few of us). I have since started calling it Cthulhu Burst as the yellow/green made me thing of the Dime Slime and I also have a great love for Morbid Angel so then "Where the Slime Live" popped into mind which of course, like all roads leading to Rome, led me back to Cthulhu...

or something like that! LOL!

I'd say the Feral bridge pickups are more along the line of my Duncan Full Shred but a bit fatter and angrier/less bright. It splits REALLY well also. it's about 13k I think so not SUPER high output. I use them in my blue Balaguer in a lot of my demo vids.
