Sounding Cool man... There is something weird about some of the high hat hits especially first half of the song though, maybe a bit too up front , a little off time... That stood out to me a little but everything else sat nice in the mix. Sorry to be a critic , lol

Thanks guys, and good observation. The hi-hat represented a problem because it was recorded too loud and that wasn't to easy to mask afterwards because of the bleed from the overheads. Lugo did as much as he could with it though.

I second that. Almost sounds slightly behind the tempo during the time sig change on the intro, and sort of sounds artificially added in after the fact. Other than that, it's a great mix, but even for me being a guitar guy, I'd bump up the vocal track a little.

EDIT: I don't want to come in and just point out critiques, and I will say it's a good tune and the video sure kept it entertaining. Sure is a hell of a lot better than stuff I can come up with haha, so props to you guys for that!

I guess that makes a good point for having a dedicated hi hat mic. I might try to add one to my setup. I guess Lugo can only really work with the files he receives. He seems to do great work though! What was the gear used on the guitars? That wasn't direct or a modeler was it?

No modelers. We used a Tommy Folkesson MK V (modded Marshall) trough a Palmer PDI 09

Ah ok, the Palmer is what I am hearing here then. I find they add their sound to whatever they are used on. It sounds good don't get me wrong, but I think reamping that back through some cabs would be awesome.

I don't think a dedicated hi hat mic would have helped. If it's in the overheads, it's just there and not much you can do. Probably more of an issue with the overhead mic placement.

Cool tune, but for me that singer just seems so... stale. Doesn't seem like he has much vocal range, vibrato, nor does it seem he can really "scream" out the vocals if you know what I mean.
