Had my camera out so I snapped a pic of my 2 favorite guitars. They are identical specs except the black one is 100% Mahogany and has dot inlays and gold hardware. The sunburst is mahogany with maple cap and has block inlays and nickel hardware. M22SD and M22N pickups in the black one and Dimarzio Super Distortion and Air Classic in the sunburst. IMO, the M22SD is the best "metal" humbucker I have ever used..........including the stuff I've tried from BKP and MCP. I don't get the bad rap they get around the forums.

Cool stuff, Ive never seen the V headstock on that model. I really want a CT624. Being left handed Carvin is one of my favorite companies.

I've played one similar to these years ago and friggn' LOVED it! everything about it. except I was weirded out by the frets. whenever I'd do some intense bending, I could have sworn the top of the fret wires were getting mashed :dunno: But it's been the only one I've played since, unfortunately. Do your frets seem somehow soft on those?

Great guitars. I do not know why Carvins do not get much love or even likes here. I have owned a few and my Bolt+ is a great guitar. It is actually my fav over all of my guitars. Carvin pickups are OK, but I do like the M22SD. It is a very good pickup. I have an older one in my old Kramer Focus w/Carvin neck and it sounds great. Much warmer than the SD. I have MCPs in my Bolt+ and it sounds much better though than with the M22T/M22N and also the M22SD (newer version) and M22V.

Strange.........I don't have that experience at all. Maybe the frets were loose or something on the one you tried.

Yeah, it was the weirdest thing. They would leave flat streaks with every bend as if they were made of lead. Played and sounded beautiful, though!

I think your look great. I'm sure they sound awesome too.

Soft Fret problem is weird , not typical though.

Carvin uses Jescar Frets which are slightly harder than other frets ( Jescar Nickel = harder than other Nickel/ Jescar Stainless=harder than other Stainless ) by about 10 %.

I think Mahogany is a good choice for neck through Guitars (unless you like them bright and tight).

I have a Carvin TL60, and it's a great guitar! It smokes every PRS I've ever tried! They are my favorite guitar co. Very high quality and reasonable prices for an american made guitar.
