i pulled some serious strings to get an all white 2009 M-II SD in america. the color is only offered in germany/austrailia. Japan only gets black or red, USA gets black only.

so i was told ~8-12 weeks when i ordered it. went ahead and did the full downpayment.

but now when ESP checked to make sure it was a bolt on neck, they gave him 6-7 months estimate

that means i wont get my 2009 baby until april of next year

So it is a bolt on? I thought the M-II was bolt on right?

Custom shop or just production?

I don't know how they do it now but MII's were always available as Neck through and Bolt on..
MII Deluxe Bolt on.
MII Custom Deluxe Neck through.

I know the ESP Custom shop is small but that is a hell of a wait for just a standard model painted white..

Sorry to hear..

Bummer man  Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

M-II deluxe "customized" with nothing but a colour change.

it was a bitch finding a dealer to work with me.

i was hoping to be able to post my NGD post in rig-talk right about now. its been ~4 months so far already. wont be until april of next year now.

i wouldnt have needed to order a deluxe at all if i lived in germany.

and yes, you have the neck through or the bolt on option for the M-II (+~$100-200), but i prefer the "snap" of a bolt on neck. i dont like the smoothness neck throughs give, i much prefer do that on the amplifier side and with touch/feel/playing with the volume knob.

i didnt want to import one because of the euro-dollar conversion, i would end up spending about $2,300. :(

american black models run ~1500+tax retail in black without a case. both variables suck - i dislike all black guitars with maple necks.

i got a deal with a case, but son of a bitch guys september to april for just a color change?!

M-II's in all white are rare in these parts. and its esentially my dream guitar minus a few wood choices which i just DONT have the money for anytime soon (mahog maple top)

it just sucks because he told me 12 weeks, its been ~4 months, and now ESP told him until april of next year. it just sucks to have waited this long only to be given a date so far away

if i would have known this in the first place i wouldnt have placed the order. they already have black-nickel plating which i fucking hate with a passion, and i could have used the money for a W/D/W setup rack that i originally mentioned a long time ago.

that guitar had better play, look, and sound fucking phenominal after i change a few things to my liking and set it up to my preferences, otherwise 1 year of waiting will be a big letdown for a standard deluxe with just a colour change

Jesus, 6-7 months..... Next time ask me to buy one here and ship it to you.

thanks for the amazing offer - but unless i buy it from a dealer i would have to pay you for the guitar+euro taxes+shipping+insurance fee's+case costs. sooooooooooooooooooo i guess that the wait is what i have to pay for in the long run. money or time.

theres really no-one i could trust sending money. i would trust scott, mike, dave, larry, steve, and dan here on the forum. but even then i have no clue as to if someone would just take the money and run.

not to be meant negative at all, i just dont know you. however your offer is amazing and i greatly appreciate it  ;)

No offense taken. I just find it ridiculous to wait so long for a standard model in another color.
And i personally wouldn't be comfortable taking money from you anyway. I was just pointing out other possible solutions.

Damn that sucks, I also been thru stuff like this with ESP.
I bought about 10 ESP one year and some of them took longer than they told me it would take. I also have seen guys make custom orders and wait 6 to 8 months longer than they were told it was gonna take. I remeber waiting a xtra 3 months for a GL-56 and white ninja v. The lynch was a regular model but the ninja in white wasn't a color we was offered in the USA.

Huh, I could have gotten a new White M-II standard for £900 a few weeks ago.

Bummer on the wait my man!
When I lived in Japan they had all kinds of cool axes that were exclusive to only Japan.
I snagged a few when I was heavy into collecting.
Was like a kid in a Candy store!
Keep patient. It will be worth the wait.

i could have recieved one in white, but with a black headstock. only you euro panzies get the matching headstock models which is how picky i am

i owe nothing more on the guitar, just sucks to wait i guess. it sucks even more to know its a model hanging up all over germany/europe right now - not like i was building an all out custom shop model. however, i do want to do exactly that in the future. the wait time wouldnt be so painful

i just hope the guitar is flawless. because flawless = worth the time and money.

thanks danno. so THATS where you got that killer :D

im sure plenty of the guys here on the forum have waited this long and know how i feel. but theres a few things here like being lied into a fake wait time to order the guitar thats non-refundable with a downpayment, and also the fact ESP takes so long just to ship a colour change model.

i do know that they are backed up but really? 7 months for a color?

just to talk about it a bit, i dunno how anyone else is but no guitar fits me right out of the box. ill have it down in parts and pieces as soon as i get it lol. it will need to be fully gone over when i get it before its 100% my dream guitar. re-wired, new pickups, replacing the hardware, gotoh floyd rose, tungsten block, and a bournes pot just to name a few. :D :D :D

Couldn't you have bought a used M-II (preferably a cheap one with battered paint) then had it resprayed?

guitar + paint + all shipping costs + a case was not a wise investment money wise, plus the logo's are hard to find for ESP since the headstock is the main reason. i couldnt find anyone that did ESP logo's and to be honest, i wouldnt want a fake logo on such a guitar to begin with. this isnt exactly an LTD here.

it was too much BS - i got it cheaper this way.

also i would be looking at a model that would be prior to 2005, when the nickel plating was introduced into production in their shop. i had a very hard time finding these guitars, and most of the ones i would feel sinister stripping the existing paint to recolour it.

i also couldnt find anyone that would do as good of a job as i wanted for a decent price which also put the final nail in that coffin :dunno: i just would have had stupid amounts invested in it, more than i cared so to be honest, to get the same end result as one that's hanging on a store's wall in your country.

its all good though. things are already said and done, and it has been 4 months already. i have been low about it until the recent knews i just found out. time is all i need for now :)

Eh, I dunno, dpepends what it's like over there I guess.

Over here, £500 for the used M-II, £250max for the paint job, £20 for the professional decal.

M-II's in this area arent going for $750. most of the ones i have seen were in the $1100 range used minimum, 1200 range was more normal, plus more for paint job extras, wood, etc.

retail, the guitars are around $1500 new and of course in black, and without a case.

MSRP for the ones in america are around $2,600 before tax.

but if i lived on your side of the pond, i wouldnt need to repaint one. the prices would probably me much lower like you are mentioning, and i could simply purchase one lol.

no worries though at all

If I'd have known you wanted one I'd have sent one over!

so many amazing guys over the pond. i really do appreciate all of the offers guys from everyone that really means alot :)

its all good though. in the end, ill still get the guitar. things will just take longer than normal. next time i order an ESP it will be a custom shop model. so hopefully, i wont go through this again without expecting it first. a 12 month waiting period on a CS is common, and actually worth the wait. mojo is being made on those models :D
