Holy Shit, Just really looked at your Avatar now. I'm having a flashback to looking in my Circus & Hit Parader magazines, and seeing the ads. I actually bought the system when it was out. Great Stuff. Is it really you? If so, wow cool. Just checked out some of your videos, and I'm going to buy your Album on itunes, and give some support!

Curt's avatar is Doug Marks. I don't think they are one and the same (but I could be wrong).

At any rate... I remember those days as well. I actually have Doug's band Hawk's cassette and used to wear it out. Wish I could get it on CD.

My 80s band played with Hawk at the Roxy in Hollywood the night they did their first show ever. To tell you the truth, everybody I talked to that night thought they sucked...

Anyway... Here is a pic. You can see the Hawk banner in the back:

PS. I predict your band is NEVER going to make it and even though you may have opened for Hawk, has Doug Marks ever contacted you about your playing even though you never blatantly posted a link to his Facebook page soliciting a response? No? I didn't think so. So let's get this thread back on target..

Yeah... I can see them sucking live (at least the first show). I dug [pun] Doug's tone and phrasing. Had kind of a slippery legato thing going from what I remember. Didn't he do some of that instruction with Jim Gillette for a while too?

That second pic of you reminds me of Chris DeGarmo in his heyday.

I must beg your forgiveness as I do understand the needs of your fragile ego and this IS your glory thread, however the legacy of NorthStar will never die and must be promoted in as many threads as humanly possible!!!!

As far as your pal, Dougie, no he's never contacted me, but he did cower in fear and nervousness at the awesomeness that was NorthStar that night as our amazing performance, incredible tunes and killer tones caused him to blow his own show in an embarrassing fashion, causing many in the audience to say his band sucked...
