Hey guys,

I'm looking for a tremolo pedal that get me poppy warm sounding and slightly colored sounds to sharp cutting guitars à la Green Day and their Boulevard of Broken Dreams intro.

I'm currently hesitating between the MXR M159 Stereo Tremolo and the Seymour Duncan Shape Shifter. Right now the last one has my favor because it has a tap function. Which is handy for live situations.

Who's got tips? I'm curious to hear about your experience and opinions. Thx for your time.

Greetz,
Ulrich

I have been on the same quest. My requirements were that it had to do a killer choppy trem sound (think intro to Sevendust's "Black" or Green Day's "Blvd of Broken Dreams" and it had to have tap tempo, and it needed to not be huge (cuz I have limited space on my board).

I have found the pedal. . .and it is the Suhr Jack Rabbit. I don't think they are quite yet available, but that's the ONE (at least for me).

Goat Keeper (but it has a pretty large footprint) or a Dr. Scientist Tremolescence.

Diamond. It does it all. And well.

Yep, the Diamond is the best I've heard. Strymon is releasing one soon also, and that will obviously be killer.

I'm pretty damn happy with my Digitech Hardwire Tremolo pedal. Does all the basic tremolo stuff and some pretty cool trippy stuff too. Got it used/new condition for $50. :)

Love my BBE Mind Bender for warm gushy reggae rock tones.

Cool! Didn't know sure had a tremolo coming.
Diamond sounds awesome. I'm gonna give it a try as well. Thx for your tips!
