So I keep all my tube amps still and profile them, but man this thing is such a game changer....The setup I am running is an IR to the top Mission FRFR cab and a DI to the Egnater cab....The tone is thick and ridiculously tube amp like....Anyone out there have any Kemper love?

Nothin' but love for Kemper and you here, Matty. :2thumbsup: :emofag: :grim:

That's a rig, bro'.

Thanks Monkey Man....I know you are way into your Kemper too! :)

Nice, welcome to the club! A monitor is on the "to buy" list for me this year. What are your thoughts on the top mission?

Thanks. The FRFR option is fun but for the Kemper to sound realistic for my needs, it requires a traditional cab and DI feed...The Mission Gemini 2x12 is powered and was $$$ but the best sounding FRFR I could find, plus it has the empower option which allows you to reduce the high frequencies if desired....

Oh yeah baby, and thankfully not way into you.

Geez, I've gotta stop joking with you that way. People will talk.  :emofag: :grim:

I have been contemplating the Mission cab as I like the "traditional" look.

If you're going to be FRFr route, Mission engineering is the best option. I tried many of the others in person and chose the mission over all the others. It still sounds a little sterile to be honest but better than the others.

Looks killer! Would you mind elaborating on your choice of the Mission? Did you happen to try an Atomic CLR? How about the Friedman ASM-12? I can't find many reviews on the ISP Vector FS either, but I've been leaning towards the Atomic.

Hey thanks....I chose the Mission over Atomic, Friedman, (never tried the ISP), and others because of the cab design which is solid as hell...It's powered so I can run my Kemper Main out into it and get great tone and that leaves the Speaker output on the Kemper to go the the Egnater 2x12....It also has the empower function which essentially allows you to dampen your tweeters on the Mission Cab....It's sound is still a bit sterile but not nearly as much as the others mentioned above...That and I don't like the wedge for a few odd reasons...

Hope that helps!

I should also add that nothing sounds better with the Kemper than a traditional cabinet and DI files....That is where the Kemper is spot on! I use an FRFR and traditional 2x12 cab with great results....Best of both worlds...

I'm new to Kemper so could you explain DI files, and does the Kemper have an IR loader? I'm trying to picture how your setup works...does the Kemper have two speaker outs? So one goes to the Mission and one to the Egnater? Where does the DI fit into this equation? Thanks for the help!

Sure thing.....DI files don't have an IR on them....They come direct from the amp being profiled and NOT through a cab....They are the most honest and great profiles when using a traditional cab....

For my rig I run a DI (No IR) to the Egnater 2x12 and an IR to the Mission....My Kemper is the powered version so the speaker out goes to the 2x12 and powers it and the Mission Cab is powered and takes a Main Out from the Kemper....

You can load any IR onto a DI file for tons of fun as the Kemper is indeed an IR loader and player...

IOW, Matt's sending a Profile of an amp along with a mic'd cab, to the FRFR (top) enclosure, where it's effectively mimicking a full setup.

The bottom, Engager box, receives only the amp Profile because in and of itself, it's a guitar cab.

Much more succinctly said....Thanks
