So I sent my 2203 build to our own @FourT6and2 for a Langner mod and it came out awesome!

I did make slight voicing changes to it by changing the treble cap from 500pf to 390pf and the slope resistor from 33k to 47k and it is now in the goldilocks area to my ears. I also added a Metro loop. This amp kicks ass!!!!

Nice playing dude!

That tone stack change is closer to what Langner did sometimes for more of a scooped sound (56K/250pF). That value is also found in older Marshalls, especially Bass circuits.

Here's another clip of your amp from when @Exo-metal and I were testing it.

Amp sounds :rawk:
First time I've seen those big-ass Solen coupling caps in a Marshall build.
What did you like about those caps in the og 2203 build vs the usual suspects ? ( Synergy / Sozo etc..)

They seem to contribute to a lower noise floor. Everytime I use Solens, the amps seem to have a broader frequency response and a more direct feel. This is merely my anecdotal observation.

Congrats!!

My 46-2 modded 72 is easily the best modded Marshall I've had. It's not even close.
I've owned

2 Gowers
2 Fortins
